When Yanni was still dating Sam back then, they were only university students. Since that was the case, they never exactly did anything that might cross the line.
However, before meeting Lucy, during the ten year period, Yanni could not help but admit he was a pretty horrible person back then.
He was incredibly lonely and never had a stable partner. He had always been single and since he was a wealthy man, it was only natural for him to never lack any partners with other benefits.
Lucy laughed and said, “Mr. Quain, do you want to tell me about your prior relationships with Rachel Sands, Coco Summers, Faye Simmons… and all the other famous models and celebrities?”
Yanni was speechless…
That cursed Guin... why was she not an entertainment news journalist!
He did not even remember those people and yet Guin was able to remember them so clearly. It did not matter if she remembered them but she just had to tell Lucy all about it!
Guin better hope she never ran into Yanni ever again or else, he would toss her into the middle of the Sahara Desert for her to chew on sand!
Yanni frantically put his bowl down, since it would be impossible for him to stomach anything else as immediately rushed over to Lucy, sat beside her and hugged her. He told the woman in a very sincere tone, “Lucy, I don’t even remember those women you mentioned earlier. Really, I don’t.”
Lucy replied in a pretty peculiar tone, “Sure.” She then stared directly at Yanni with her glimmering eyes. She seemed extremely calm while she grinned as she continued, “So, President Quain is a very forgetful person due to the amount of good deeds you do?”
Yanni wanted to curse but he held his tongue. For obvious reasons, he would not admit his faults, no matter the consequences.
“Lucy, those things happened in the past. I never had any other interactions with other women after meeting you.”
Usually however, the more a man tried to explain the situation, the worse everything would become. The best example would be when Yanni tried to explain himself right now.
Lucy nodded and replied in absolute certainty, “So, Guin did not lie to me and it seems you have quite the romantic history back then.”
Yanni cursed in his heart, ‘... F*ck.’
Lucy was pretty much done with her food so she stood up and said, “I’m full now. You can continue eating yourself.”
Yanni immediately went after her and said, “Are you full from the food or from being mad?”
“I’m not mad.”
Lucy went ahead to rest upstairs. Yanni on the other hand grabbed his phone and sent a very angry text to Guin.
“Don’t let me see you ever again or else I will rip your tongue out the next time I see you!”
Guin replied in a very casual manner, “Revenge is best served cold.”
Who told him to lie to her back then!
Guin could finally let go of her attachments after she had her revenge.
Yanni strode upstairs and entered the bedroom.
Lucy was standing by the window as she admired the scenery while caressing her slightly protruding little belly.
Yanni approached her with the intention of buttering up to her as he said, “The weather’s not bad today so do you want to take a walk out there? The doctors said optimal exercise is good for a pregnant woman.”
“I’ve just eaten and if I take a walk out there now, my belly will be more prone to sagging.”
Yanni was speechless.
Yanni felt quite impatient from the woman’s hostile reply. However, he knew how Lucy felt in her heart so he said, “Lucy, I was only just fooling around with those women.”
Lucy replied in a neutral tone, “You know, President Quain, you might say ‘oh, I was only just fooling around with Lucy’ in front of another woman someday.”
Yanni was completely speechless.
“You are Madam Quain. Your status is completely different from other women out there.”
When Lucy got out of bed, put her slippers on and went to freshen up in the washroom, she suddenly noticed a diamond ring around her ring finger through her reflection in the mirror.
Lucy reached her hand out and stared intensely at the diamond ring in front of her.
Yanni had most likely put the diamond ring on for her while she slept.
Lucy was beaming as she stood in front of the mirror.
After she was done freshening up, Lucy walked downstairs and noticed Yanni sitting at the dining table.
Lucy approached him and asked, “When did you put this diamond ring on for me? I didn’t even realize that you did it.”
Yanni held onto her slender little hand as he rubbed his fingers on the diamond ring around her finger and said, “I put it on for you this morning. I didn’t want to wake you up since you were sleeping so soundly.”
“When did you buy this?”
“Oh, I had it for a while now but I just never had the chance to put it on for you. When I was preparing for the wedding and was planning to propose, you had already left.”
Lucy felt slightly bad from his remark as she said, “I can’t marry you in that situation I was in back then too, you know.”
“I know and I don’t blame you. Now however, shouldn’t we apply for our marriage certificate as soon as possible?”
Lucy blushed as she lowered her gaze while stuffing toast in her mouth. She mumbled in a slightly flustered manner, “It’s all up to you.”
Yanni smiled as he placed his arm on the back of her chair, inching closer to her. He said, “Madam Quain, did you just agree to marry me?”
Lucy ripped a piece of toast and immediately shoved it into Yanni’s mouth. He should be able to keep his mouth shut if he was eating something.
This man had a smug look on his face after he succeeded in taking advantage of her.
