Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 644

After Serene exited the washroom, she did not immediately rush back to her office to have dinner. Instead, she went over to the department of Gynecology.

At that time, the doctors from the Gynecology department should be still around. She coincidentally had a doctor that she knew in the department and hence it would be alright if she asked for a pregnancy test kit.

When Serene took the pregnancy test kit from the gynecologist, the gynecologist shot her an ambiguous look. “Dr. Ludd, I wish you good luck.”

Serene’s face blushed lightly and thanked the doctor before scurrying away with embarrassment. Once she left the doctor’s room, she immediately ran into the washroom with the pregnancy test kit.

Fifteen minutes later, Serene stared at the two red bars on the pregnancy test kit and her heart was beating erratically.

She was really… pregnant?

This surprise had come too quickly. It was so soon and Serene never expected that she would be pregnant so soon.

Her phone inside the pocket of her big, white medical gown suddenly rang and the ringtone shook her from the reverie of looking at the pregnancy test bar. It was coincidentally Wilson who was calling her after looking at the incoming call notification.

She picked up the call and Wilson on the other side of the phone asked, “My babe, I have made you your favorite dessert soup. I’ll send over something for you to drink while you work overtime?”

Serene was trying to find the right words and thinking about how to tell Wilson about her pregnancy. However, she also wanted to give him a big surprise so she decided not to simply deliver this happy news over the phone.

“It’s alright. Once I finish my work, can you come and fetch me? Only then I will be able to drink the dessert. Besides, I won’t be working overtime for very long tonight. I will be able to get off work around eight.”

“Then, have you had your dinner?”

With her phone held by her ears, she nodded and said, “I have. My colleague ordered pickled fish for me.”

The moment she mentioned fish, Serene started to feel like vomiting.

Over the phone, Wilson seemed to feel that there was something wrong with her through the unusual silence. “Why? Are you not feeling well?”

“No, Wilson. Let’s talk later. I’m having my dinner now.”

“Alright. Have a good meal then.”

Just as Wilson was about to hang up the phone, Serene added, “Oh yes, I have a surprise for you tonight once I’m home.”

Wilson felt curious after hearing her mysterious tone. He raised his brows slightly. “You want to offer your body to me?”

“… I am not that vulgar!”

After joking around for a while, Serene hung up the call.

Serene continued looking at the two bars on the pregnancy test kit and the corner of her mouths involuntarily curved upward. A wide smile was blooming on her little face. She was pregnant once again and it was her and Wilson’s child.

Before Serene got off work, she called Wilson to pick her up.

Serene had estimated the time for Wilson to arrive at the hospital and he would arrive just in time if she started to pack her belongings now. She then grabbed her handbag and took the elevator down. However, when she was at the entrance of the hospital, Wilson had not yet arrive.

The North City’s fall season was a little cold with a cool breeze blowing from time to time. Serene clutched onto her coat tighter to make herself warmer.

“Serene.”

Serene followed the trail of the voice and saw Chainer walking out gracefully from a metallic grey Benz.

Serene was momentarily stunned as she did not expect to see Chainer at this place. “Why are here you at the hospital?”

“I’m sick.”

Serene just acknowledged him impassively, “Oh.” She then ignored him.

Chainer felt extremely unfair toward her nonchalant attitude. The man’s tall, imposing figure approached her and towered over her. “Why didn’t you ask me what illness I have?”

“Chainer! What nonsense are you sprouting? He is my husband. Why do some outsiders like you control what I do with him?”

“Outsiders? No matter how, I am your ex-boyfriend. How can I not care about your matters at all?”

Serene was tired of Chainer’s absurd thinking and she started to hit Chainer, trying to escape from his grip. However, Chainer was a man. How could Serene’s meagre attempt be able to overcome him?

Chainer pushed Serene with her back pressing against the car window. “You’ve never had sex with me. Why did you want to marry Wilson? Serene… I once thought that you will forever be by my side. You said that you will love me forever. Why did you lie to me? Why did you fall in love with Wilson in such a short time? What is he good at? Are you interested in his money or have you taken a liking to his appearance?”

Serene was afraid that Chainer might do something extreme, so she consoled him as much as she could, “Chainer! Don’t be so impulsive. Let me go first. Let’s talk properly on good terms!”

“Answer me! Why didn’t you answer my question? Huh?”

Chainer was pinching Serene’s lower jaw and lifted her head to face him.

Without any choice, Serene blurted out everything, “Wilson is better than you in everything. You insisted that I suddenly don’t love you anymore but have you ever loved me? Wilson loves me more than anyone. He’s such a good man so why won’t I fall in love with him? You’ve broken up with me. Are you hoping that I still have to cry over you every day?”

Besides, after dating Wilson, she realized that the feelings she had toward Chainer were so insignificant. There was a trace of infatuation in her previous feelings for him but it was definitely not considered as love.

Wilson and her had gone through multiple life-and-death experiences together. However, between her and Chainer, to be honest, they never had a proper date and it was always her having one-sided love toward him. The feelings of one-sided love were just like the mind of a little school girl. It was so insignificant that it could shatter with just a touch just like a thin sheet of glass.

After Chainer broke up with her, Serene was in sorrow and cried for some time. However, she recovered very quickly after that. The time she was together with Chainer was just a period of a little girl’s one-sided love.

Comparing the love between her and Wilson, the love between her and Chainer was just the tip of an iceberg and the significance was lighter than a bird’s feather.

Serene’s phone suddenly rang and Serene tried to turn her head toward her phone to look at the incoming caller notification. It was from Wilson.

“Wilson…”

Wilson must be nearby the hospital. She immediately lifted her hand and knocked on the car window. Serene shouted, “Wilson! I am here!”

Chainer pinned Serene onto the passenger seat. He immediately started the engine before stepping on the accelerator and sped off.
