One hour later, they were back at the Shallow Bay villa.
Ridiculously wasted, Verian was kneeling on an abacus.
"Handsome guy, I don't want to kneel on the ground. My knees hurt."
Handsome guy...
Heaton wanted to punch someone upon hearing her saying that. He took off his coat and tossed it to the sofa. After that, he unbuttoned his shirt sleeves and rolled them up.
Muddled, Verian was shocked to see Heaton rolling up his sleeves, "You… What are you trying to do? Are you trying to beat me up? I'll tell my husband to punch you in the face if you dare lay your hands on me."
She stood up from the abacus but since she was too drunk, her world started spinning as soon as she did.
She felt very dizzy…
Heaton walked and carried her.
Verian sank into his embrace half-awake. She looked at Heaton’s handsome face and smiled foolishly at him while poking his cheek with her fingers. “You look like my husband a lot. I like you. Why isn’t my husband back to catch us yet?”
Heaton stopped in his tracks and lowered his handsome face to look at the woman in his arms.
Verian’s eyes were very bright. They looked even glossier under the influence of alcohol, making her seem like a cunning little fox. Heaton’s heart skipped a beat when he looked at her.
“You want your husband to come back now and catch you cheating on him? Aren’t you afraid that he’ll throttle you?”
Verian stretched out her hand and wiggled her finger at him as she said confidently, “Well, we’re not doing anything naughty, are we? He’ll let me off. As for you…”
She suddenly snorted. “You might need to suffer a bit. Who knows? Maybe he’d castrate you. You better be careful.”
Heaton was furious at first but now, he wanted to laugh.
Was he usually that violent and cruel?
Her mind blanked for about three seconds before she heard a sizzling sound downstairs. She threw off her blanket and leaped out of bed.
She ran downstairs and indeed, she saw the tall man standing next to the dining table.
Verian was rooted to the spot as she stared at him blankly.
Heaton glanced at her and said dully, “Don’t think I’ll forgive you for staying out all night by giving me that look.”
“Why did you come back so suddenly? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Heaton walked over to her, gazing at her deeply. In fact, he missed her a lot after not seeing her for days.
“If I told you that I was coming back, I wouldn’t have caught you cheating on me yesterday.”
Verian’s heart sank. “Cheating? Who’s cheating on you?” she asked him hesitantly before carefully shifting her gaze to his cold yet chiseled face.
