Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 620

Serene reached for Wilson. She tried to unbutton his shirt, but he stopped her.

"Ruby told you?"

Serene blinked back her tears as she nodded furiously. "I'm so sorry, Wilson."

How could she have shot Wilson? Twice! Once on the left chest, another on the right shoulder? If Wilson were not lucky, she would not be able to see him again. The left chest was so close to the heart. How could she do it?

Wilson held her hand and brought her closer; they touched foreheads. He comforted her. "You were under Stephen's control. It's not your fault."

Serene sniffed. "I don't care that I was under his control. I shot you. It's the truth. Wilson, why did you not tell me this?"

"What's the point? You'd only feel guilty. I don't want to see you cry ever again, not even for me."

Serene wiped her tears. "Then, I won't cry."

She bit her lip as she tried to stop her tears. Wilson's heart ached. He hugged her tightly and said, "It's okay, stop crying. It's all in the past now. Those were two lucky shots; I'm neither dead nor disabled.

She lightly touched the scar as her nose twitched. She was a doctor, so she was familiar with human anatomy. The wound was too close to the heart—a slight change in angle would have hit Wilson squarely in his heart.

"I must be the first girlfriend ever to shoot her boyfriend. I am so unqualified to be your girlfriend. If you are angry, just take it out on me. I am so sorry because I don't remember shooting you."

Wilson hugged her tightly and looked at her longingly. "If you really want to apologize and repay me, then get well soon. Then we can try for another child."

Serene looked at him with sparkles in her eyes. Wilson was always so thoughtful. She swore that she would never lose her temper with him. She would be the best that she could be—whether his girlfriend or his wife or the mother of his children in the future.
