Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 577

Stephen took a glance at the meal in front of him and commented, “Looks good but I’m not sure how it’ll taste.”

Serene’s huge eyes lit up as she said, “Hurry up and eat! I’ll have you know that I poured my heart and soul into making this meal and it isn’t anything to scoff at! If you can’t tell how much effort I’ve put into making this, then your tastebuds have some serious issues.”

Stephen chuckled and said, “Little brat, your lowly provocations are useless on me.”

He was such a weird and difficult old man!

Serene stared anxiously at the old man as he tasted some of the scrambled eggs with tomatoes. She asked, “So, what do you think?”

“Not bad but the tomatoes aren’t too fresh.”

Serene then said, “...Try this one then.”

Serene stared anxiously at the old man again and asked, “What do you think? Does it taste good?”

Stephen shook his head and said, “Not as good as the scrambled eggs with tomatoes.”

Serene reluctantly served him a bowl of soup and said, “Drink some soup to calm your nerves. How is that possible though? It tasted delicious when I tried some earlier.”

Stephen frowned after drinking a spoonful of soup.

Serene asked in a concerned tone, “What’s wrong? Does the soup taste bad too?”

“This soup…is still acceptable.”

Serene let out a sigh of relief and said, “Are you trying to scare me to death?”

Stephen chuckled as he thought about just how fun teasing this little brat was. So this was why his emotionally detached apprentice had developed feelings for her.

Stephen asked in a teasing tone, “You’re that worried? Are you really that desperate to know where Wilson is?”

“Of course!”

Serene puffed her little face up before speaking in a slightly depressed tone, “I’ve not seen him for close to a month now… Just what kind of a dumb organization are you guys operating anyway? Why is every single mission that long? You guys aren’t doing anything illegal or unspeakable now, right?”

Stephen rubbed his chin and casually exclaimed, “You know, not only do I know where Wilson is, but I can also send you to him. Do you want that?”

Serene’s dim eyes lit up the instant she heard him say that. She looked up immediately and exclaimed, “Of course I do! Old mister, do you wish to eat anything else? I’ll cook it for you immediately!”

Stephen smiled and stood up. He said, “I’m full.”

“Huh? You’re full? But…”

“Pack your things tonight. I’ll have someone send you to Wilson’s side tomorrow.”

Serene was stunned for a few seconds before she nearly screamed her lungs out from being overjoyed. She then exclaimed, “You can’t go back on your words now, old mister! You need to honor them, okay!”

“Oh please, I’m not as worried about getting fat like you women at my age now. I don’t really mind eating my words, you know.”

There was quite some distance between their camp and the underground.

However, Wilson did not turn around and draw his gun. Instead, he swiftly hid behind a pile of snow.

At that very moment, the enemy was within his field of vision and had secretly become his prey.

It did not take long for the ‘enemy’ to enter his line of sight…

However, the enemy looked very clumsy and had a very small figure. They were dressed in a very thick down jacket, with a hat on their head and a scarf around their neck. Only their eyes were exposed and due to how thickly that person was dressed, they seemed to resemble a small penguin.

The small chubby penguin seemed to have lost sight of its target. They were just standing in the middle of the snowy ground and seemed very confused as they took a glance to their left and right before turning around, looking around completely lost. It seemed that they had lost sight of Wilson and took a couple of steps forward…

Wilson raised his brows and was confused if this person was actually his enemy or just a lost tourist.

However, what tourist would even wander off to a place like this?

Wilson kept away his gun that he was clutching onto tightly while staring at that chubby little penguin nearby.

That person seemed quite clumsy. If that person could even lose sight of their supposed target, would Wilson even need a gun to deal with them?

However, Wilson did not immediately emerge from the snow pile as he wanted to continue observing the person.

As he continued observing behind the snow pile, the little chubby penguin seemed a little frantic after a good long while searching for Wilson. The person suddenly extended her tiny white hands, pulled her scarf off, and yelled, “Wilson Jarret! Where are you!”
