When Serene woke up, she was held in an enclosed room. She was also blindfolded and all of her limbs were bound again. She could barely move.

The sound of a door opening could be heard next to her ears.

“Where is this place!”

The masked man’s voice could be heard saying, “Hmph, you weren’t afraid during the journey here and now you are?”

“What exactly do you want?”

“I will inform the White Wolf immediately that you are being held by me.”

“Sir, I’ve repeatedly told you that I am only his ex-girlfriend. The White Wolf won’t risk his life to save me!”

The masked man chuckled and said, “Why don’t we give it a try and see if he’ll come?”

Serene had been raised in quite a peaceful society as a child. Not only was she currently held by terrorists but a gun would be pointed at her from time to time. She would be lying if she was not afraid.

When the call was connected the masked man said, “Hey, White Wolf, how are you doing?”

“Dark Shadow? How dare you contact me when you’re no match to me?”

Dark Shadow scoffed and said, “This time, I will have you willingly send the flightpath to South America back to me.”

“I’m very curious to know what exactly motivated you to say something that confidently.”

Dark Shadow clicked on the loudspeaker icon on his phone and said, “White Wolf, you’ll never expect that your ex-girlfriend is currently with me!”

Wilson’s dark pupils constricted. However, his voice sounded calm as he said, “Stop lying. Are you using some disgraceful methods to lie to me by saying that you have my ex-girlfriend?”

“Hmph, you won’t admit it, won’t you?”

Dark Shadow immediately ripped Serene’s blindfold off and grabbed one of her hands before slamming it on the table.

Serene struggled as she yelled, “What are you doing!”

Wilson could clearly hear Serene’s terrifying screams. His heart thumped.

Dark Shadow then took a sharp knife and pressed it on Serene’s thumb before saying, “White Wolf, from this moment on, if you dare deny a question I ask, I will cut off one of her fingers.”

Serene was so terrified that her entire body was shaking while her face turned inhumanly pale.

Wilson replied with a menacingly cold tone, “Dark Shadow, if you dare touch a single finger, I will immediately ruin your Dark Organization!”

Dark Shadow chuckled as he said, “So, for our previous friendship’s sake, you should hand us that flightpath to South America you’re holding onto. Do that, and your ex-girlfriend can return to your side safely and unharmed. This is quite the deal, you know. Best you give it some serious thought!”

Wilson chuckled coldly and said, “I never expected the prime agent of the Dark Organization to kidnap a helpless girl! It seems to me that the Dark Organization would resort to underhanded methods when they’re no match for us! What a joke it will be if word gets out!”

Dark Shadow furiously exclaimed, “Save your insults to the Dark Organization. I am responsible for this operation alone. It has nothing to do with the Dark Organization.”

Wilson did not want to waste any more time so he bluntly said, “Place of the deal, now!”

“Tonight at eight, Sardinia Island! I’ll hand her over and you’ll hand me the contract!”

Wilson gritted his teeth and furiously said, “You better make sure she doesn’t even have a single strand of hair missing from her! Or else, not only would you be unable to get the contract but you also won’t see the light of day tomorrow!”

Wilson immediately ripped his infusion lines out, got out of bed, changed into his gear and was ready to head out.

The instant Thompson entered the room, he noticed the man had already put on his gear.

“Wilson, you’ve just had a surgery done and you’re still recovering! What are you doing?”

Dark Shadow grabbed onto the back of Serene’s collar and forced her out of the helicopter at 7:50 p.m..

Serene frowned with her filthy face and asked, “You guys agreed to meet at eight, what time is it now? White Wolf hasn’t arrived yet. I told you, he wouldn’t come!”

“There’s ten minutes left! If White Wolf doesn’t arrive in ten minutes, I’ll throw you into the forest to feed the wolves!”

Serene cringed from being absolutely terrified as she stuttered, “I… I’m not tasty.”

Dark Shadow scoffed and said, “White Wolf shouldn’t think about leaving this island alive tonight!”

Serene’s heart tightened as she stared wide-eyed while reluctantly asking, “So you really wanted his life after all…”

“What do you think? Hmph, letting White Wolf live is a huge problem to us. As long as he’s dead, our Dark Organization can dominate all of Europe and the Americas!”

Serene pouted as she thought that he had gone mad from his dreams…

Upon noticing her dissatisfied look, Dark Shadow stared at her and said, “What’s the matter? You’re unconvinced?”

“I know nothing about things like these so is it really that relevant for you to ask me? I only want to return home safely.”

Dark Shadow stared at the amusing little girl with a warm burning gaze as he said, “Maybe I’ll keep you if you’re not White Wolf’s woman!”

Serene cringed before scoffing loudly at him as she said, “Forget it then…”

Keeping her around so she could be the wife of their leader? She would rather die!

It was 7:59 p.m.

Dark Shadow took a look at the time as he said, “A minute left. If White Wolf doesn’t show up, you’ll actually be fed to the wolves.”

The instant he finished saying that, a military chopper nearby flew across the sea under the night sky and was headed straight for the island.

Serene looked up and stared blankly at the night sky as she wondered if Wilson actually came to save her?

Dark Shadow scoffed and said, “It seems you’re still somewhat important in White Wolf’s heart. He’s here.”
