Verian and Yandel arrived at the ground floor, and as they walked down the hallway, they saw Heaton as he stood by his car.
Verian glanced at Yandel, and to her surprise, Yandel gave in easily. "Go. I'll go get supper."
"Thank you, Brother."
After Yandel walked out of the residential area to get their food, Verian pranced toward Heaton and jumped into his embrace. She grabbed Heaton and looked at him with excitement in her eyes like a little kid. Her eyes sparkled with joy.
"It's late. Why are you here?"
"I couldn't fall asleep, and so I'm here to meet you."
Heaton stroked her hair and gently pressed his hand at the back of her head. He looked at her affectionately.
Verian could not stand his loving gaze. Then she wrapped her fair, tender arms around his neck and snuggled in his embrace. "Heaton..."
They had only not seen each other for a day. Why did she miss him so much?
They were past the infatuation stage. According to Madam Gaunt, they should have already gotten used to being with each other that their fiery passion and love for each other would gradually fade. Then they would live their lives together peacefully. However, even though they were used to each other, Verian did not think their love and longing for each other died away with time. Instead, the admiration toward the man whom she would walk down the aisle tomorrow deepened as time passed by.
Verian rested her head on his shoulder. Since she wore a pair of flats, the man looked incredibly tall. Not only did he have to bend down to hug her, but he did it like how a squirrel would cherish a nut in its hands. Both her feet were off the ground, and Verian was taller than Heaton as she clung to him. She felt a little embarrassed, and her cheeks were flushed. "Let's get into the car."
"There's limited space in the car."
Verian choked when she heard Heaton's answer. She coughed a few times intensely before she looked at him with her eyes wide open. "To do what?"
"..."
When he saw her reddened cheeks, Heaton did not want to tease her anymore. He put her down, but he kept his arms around her waist. In a deep voice, he said, "I'm not in a hurry. You shall pay me back everything you owe me tomorrow night."
Verian did not dare to look into his eyes. She felt shy, so she averted her gaze to look at the surroundings instead. In the end, she was sandwiched between the car and his sturdy chest. He used his tall, fit, and upright body to entrap her petite figure. He lowered his head and locked eyes with her. Then he kissed her passionately for a long time.
In that dark, narrow space, he was everything in her eyes, and she could only feel his presence at that moment.
Just as the two were intimate, a voice sounded from afar, which ruined their lovey-dovey atmosphere.
"Hey! Whose car is this? Move it immediately! No cars are allowed to park here!"
Verian was frightened and subconsciously snuggled deeper into Heaton's embrace.
Heaton was unexpectedly calm. He hugged Verian in his arms and used his body to cover Verian so that the security guard would not notice her. Then he turned his head toward the neighborhood security guard and said, "I will move it right away."
"Quickly, please."
As the sky was already dark, the security guard did not walk closer toward them. He ordered Heaton to move his car from a distance, and then he walked away.
From his embrace, Verian stretched her neck to peep at the security guard as if she was scared that he would catch them doing something terrible. "Has the security guard left?"
"Yes."
Verian sighed in relief. 'That scared me. I thought someone came down from upstairs and caught me red-handed,' Verian thought to herself.
She pushed Heaton away gently. "It's getting late. You should go back now. We have to wake up early tomorrow."
She had to wake up at six in the morning. They estimated that the hairstylist and makeup artist would spend hours with her hair and makeup. Then, Heaton needed to go to the condominium at nine in the morning to fetch her to the church. The bridesmaids would definitely not let Heaton enter the house easily. Hence, they would probably squander for about half an hour before they would allow Heaton into the house.
As she thought upon that, Verian wrapped her arms around his neck and asked, "What if they give you a hard time tomorrow?"
Heaton chuckled, "Xylean and Serene are your bridesmaids. Serene will be easy to handle as Wilson is with me. She wouldn't dare to block my way for too long. Xylean is quite daring and might be hard to deal with."
"Okay."
Yandel did not want to disturb their sweet moments. "I'll go into the hallway first."
They watched Yandel walk into the hallway, and when Yandel turned his back toward them, Verian grabbed Heaton's shirt, tip-toed, and pulled herself closer to him. Then she planted a kiss on Heaton's lips. "Good night, Mr. Fudd."
After that, Verian wanted to run away like a little rabbit. However, before she could do so, Heaton gently pulled her back toward him, bent down slightly, and hugged her in his arms. Then he whispered in her ears. "Good night, Mrs. Fudd."
After they said good night to each other, Heaton finally let her go.
Verian dashed into the hallway happily; her heart was filled with sweetness and joy.
As Verian and Yandel entered the elevator, Yandel could not hold in his curiosity and asked, "It's just a wedding. Are you that happy?"
Verian looked at Yandel, but she could not stop smiling. She pursed her lips and said, "You will know how I feel when you marry Leannie."
Yandel choked when he heard that. He clenched his fist and brought it close to his lips.
The elevator went up to the fifth floor. As Verian exited the elevator, she did not forget to encourage Yandel, who followed behind her. "Brother, you'll have to buckle up. I will aim the bridal bouquet at Leannie tomorrow."
Yandel coughed in embarrassment. He was the elder brother, but his sister had gotten married before he did. She even had two kids already. It had all seemed a little ridiculous to him.
Yandel pursed his lips in deliberation and urged her, "You'll have to aim properly at her."
"Don't worry, Brother. I will definitely throw the bridal bouquet at Leannie."
