Early in the morning in the Gale Family Mansion...
Helen had difficulties sleeping in her new bed. Even though she brought her old pillow over, she could not sleep well last night.
In the morning, as soon as she woke up, she saw that it was already half past ten!
Carter had already woken up, while Tyler leaned on the bed, looking at her.
"Mommy! You lazy bug! The sun's already on your ass!"
Helen left the bed in a rush and asked, "Where's your daddy?"
"Daddy's already at work!"
Helen quickly went to freshen herself up. Damn! She woke up late on the first day in the Gale Family Mansion. She was worried that Old Master Gale, who was downstairs, would make things difficult for her.
She thought that rich people generally preferred daughter-in-laws who would wake up early to make breakfast and show filial obedience.
After brushing her teeth and washing her face, Helen changed her clothes and ran downstairs.
Behind her, Tyler looked speechless. "Mommy, why are you in such a hurry?"
Helen did not answer her son. She ran downstairs with her slippers. However, when she got there, she saw Tina sitting by the dining table with Old Master Gale.
Tina was very filial. She asked, "Uncle, did the Chinese yam porridge I cooked suit your taste?"
Initially, Old Master Gale wanted to tell her not to cook it again because he had cooks in the house. However, when the corners of his eye saw Helen standing at the staircase, he cleared his throat and deliberately said, "Um. It tastes good. Tina, a lady should behave like you. Don't be like the other lady who doesn't behave like a lady. What time is it already? She even sleeps until late morning. Carter should have a virtuous wife like you."
Helen was speechless.
It was only early in the morning and she had not done anything but was already criticized.
Helen raised her eyebrows and said, "I'm sorry. I can stay happily with my hubby without needing to make him turn hostile toward his family. Anyway, we've already received our marriage certificate. We're married and have a child, so no one can separate us."
Tina gritted her teeth, looking very furious. She sneered when she saw an extremely ordinary wedding ring on Helen's ring finger. "You're saying that Carter loves you, but why do I feel that Carter treats you poorly? When Carter was with me, he didn’t spend his family's money too. However, all the money he earned from his work was used to buy me a diamond ring. As compared to your ring, mine's much more beautiful."
"Does it really matter? Now, the woman whose name is on Carter’s marriage certificate is Helen, not you, Ms. Lane."
Damn Carter! How dare he buy a diamond ring for another woman!
When he came back tonight, he should not even think about sleeping on the bed!
Tina looked over at Tyler who was not far away and sneered with her red lips. "You definitely have more means than ordinary women. Other women can't stay with Carter for long, but you are apparently clever enough to trap Carter with a child. Carter is a man who takes responsibility seriously. It seems that Carter is not really in love with you. It's just about him being responsible."
Helen put on a smile and refuted her, "Ms. Lane, do you know Carter very well? If Carter really likes you, why would he marry me? Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you. Ms. Lane, last night, Carter threw away the photo of you and him into the bin."
