Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 430

Serene clenched her fists and threw a few punches at his chest. “Wilson! You bastard! Let go of me! If you don’t let me go, I’ll call out for help!”

This little girl widened her round and watery eyes to stare at him angrily!

However, Wilson did not want to let go of her. “Shout for help then. Even if your voice breaks from yelling, I’m afraid that no one around here can hear you. My car is fully sound-proofed.”

Serene was momentarily at a loss for words.

She was so exasperated that her fair, tender face blushed in anger.

“Let go of me!”

His hands were on her slender waist as he looked into her eyes intently. “You’re wearing such formal attire. Who are you meeting?”

“Does this have anything to do with you? Don’t forget that you’re a married man!”

“I’ll divorce Ruby.”

“But as of right now, you haven’t divorced her yet! Isn’t that right!”

Serene desperately wanted to cry. Everything that happened was obviously his fault. How could he be so calm and disturb her life again and again?

It took her a long enough time to alleviate her sorrow due to their breakup. Now, why had he decided to appear in front of her again?

Tears fell from her eyes in desperation and anger.

Wilson was stunned for a moment and lifted his fingers to caress her tender, tear-streaked face. “I’ll divorce Ruby as soon as possible. Don’t cry.”

Serene bit her lips and flung his hands away. In fury, she glared at him. “It’s none of my business whether you get a divorce or not!”

“Why did you resign from the hospital?”

“It’s none of your business!”

Serene’s phone rang and she answered the call immediately.

The person over the phone was Aunt Grace’s nephew, Joshua Cantrell.

“Is this Serene? Have you arrived? I looked around the restaurant but wasn’t able to spot you.”

Serene breathed in deeply to calm her nerves. With the back of her hands, she wiped away the tears on her face. “I’m sorry. Can you wait for me a little while more? I’ll be reaching soon.”

Wilson could hear that it was a man’s voice over the phone and his forehead creased in displeasure.

Once Serene disconnected the phone, Wilson questioned her coldly, “Who was that?”

“Does that have anything to do with you? We’ve broken up!”

He had used up all this patience toward Serene by now. With his hand firmly holding the nape of her neck, he lowered his head so their foreheads met. “Serene, you better not test my patience.”

She choked back her tears and said, “I don’t want to test your patience. It’s you who always challenges my limits! I definitely won’t become a mistress!”

“Who said I’d be letting you become a mistress?”

Wilson’s tone was a little gentler than before. However, Serene did not want to have anything to do with him at all and said to him frankly, “Mr. Jarret, I have things to do. Please unlock your car and let me leave!”

“What things? I’ll send you there.”

“It’s a blind date. Are you still sending me over?” Serene’s tone was cold and her expression impassive.

Wilson’s emotions were stirred up like waves beneath his dark gaze. “You’re wearing this for a blind date?”

“Can’t I?”

“No.”

Wilson kissed her on her lips in anger.

Serene’s mouth gapped open slightly before he bit his lips hard while he kissed her. The metallic smell of blood filled her mouth cavity. However, Wilson seemed to have no plans of letting her go at all. He even continued to unbutton her cheongsam.

Serene was extremely afraid, her voice trembling. “We can’t… Let me go…”

The man’s deep voice was gentle. “Serene, why can’t we? Huh?”

“You have a wife already… Let me go… Oh.” Wilson kissed her again.

What was the difference between what they were doing now and adultery!

“Ruby and I were never truly husband and wife. There’s nothing between us. We’re just a married couple in name.”

Serene did not mind these little details. She was fine with lemon fruit tea as she was not picky.

Joshua initiated the conversation. “It’s been a long time since we’ve met each other. You’ve become beautiful!”

“Thank you.”

“What are you working as now? Is your job in town?”

Serene nodded and explained honestly, “I was previously interning in North City Hospital but resigned recently and am back here now. I’m now working as a doctor at our town’s Residential Medical Center.”

“As a woman, it’s better to work near where you live. If we end up together, we can buy a house in this town after we’re married. I’ll work in the city while you can look after our house. You can work in town and take care of both our parents at the same time.”

Serene was slightly stunned. She did not expect Joshua to consider things so far ahead. She smiled awkwardly. “We’ll talk about our future next time when it happens.”

“We have to talk about these things as soon as we can. Once we’ve confirmed our relationship, we can then meet each other’s parents. Oh yeah, do you usually do house chores at home?”

“No, I don’t.”

Joshua frowned, obviously displeased with her answer. “Girls should know how to do housework. Otherwise, the house will be a mess after marriage.”

Serene did not comprehend his point of view. “At my house, my father does the house chores and my mother will only help him occasionally.”

“How can men do the chores? It’s always women who do house chores. Men are already exhausted and tired from working outside the whole day. How can the wife let her husband do the chores after coming back from work?”

Serene’s frown deepened. Her dislike toward him intensified as the tension between them rose. “But women have to work too. We work for the entire day as well. Therefore, why should women have to take full responsibility for doing house chores?”

She could comprehend if both husband and wife shared the responsibility of house chores together. However, Joshua was bluntly saying that women should be the only ones doing housework. He was really an extremist in terms of male chauvinistic values.

When she was together with Wilson, he was also a male chauvinist but would still buy breakfast for her and never asked her to help him do his house chores.

As Serene thought of this, her heart ached in pain once again.

They had broken up. Why was she still thinking about him again?

Serene absent-mindedly peeked at the time displayed on her phone. She felt that it would be more interesting to watch a movie than spend time listening to Joshua spurting out all his nonsensical worldviews.

Just as she wanted to suggest going for a movie, Joshua asked, “Oh by the way, have you ever dated in the past?”
