Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 347

"Leannie, let's go! This should be the place to bind wounds. Why are you so clumsy?"

Xylean's colleague supported her as she limped into the dressing room to bandage her injuries. The art gallery had an art exhibition that day, but there was an accident there. The biggest art piece that was hung midair in the gallery had fallen loose. When she saw what was about to happen, Xylean lunged forward to push one of the visitors out of harm's way. However, she did not manage to dodge away in time, and the art piece had landed on one of her legs.

Fortunately, her leg did not suffer any fractures. However, her foot was swollen, and the skin was purplish-black because some of her blood vessels had burst.

Her colleague noticed that the dressing room was closed when they reached there and helped to push the door open. When the door opened, Xylean saw Yandel kneeling in front of a girl.

Her heart trembled inexplicably, and her expression turned cold.

Yandel... Why was he in Florence?

Her colleague tried to help her into the room. "Come on, let's go in."

Xylean hobbled backward to try to leave, but her colleague did not notice her action. She asked the two people in the room, "Are you our countrymen? Do you know where is the doctor?"

Xylean had her back toward them, but her trembled sharply all the same.

They had not seen each other for a year, so she did not expect to see him in Florence.

Xylean also did not expect to see him with another girl during their first meeting in a year.

Her pride did not allow her to stay in the room.

Yandel squinted his eyes as he tried to take a better look at the person who had their back toward him. It was a view that he knew well.

"Leannie?"

When Xylean heard Yandel called out to her, he immediately tried to hobble her way out of the room.

Yandel was afraid that she would disappear from his life again, so he quickly strode forward to grab her hand and pull her into his embrace.

"Why did you run when you saw me? Do you really want to avoid me that much?"

"Let me go! I don't know you!" Xylean scratched and pushed him away forcefully.

"You have explored the outside world for so long, and yet, it's still not enough for you?" Yandel lowered his gaze toward her sternly and disapprovingly.

Xylean lifted her head and glared at him angrily. "It is none of your business!"

The female colleague who accompanied her to the dressing room was stunned by the scene, so she asked, "Leannie, this is...?"

"No one!"

"Boyfriend."

Both of them answered simultaneously.

The female colleague smiled awkwardly. She thought that it was the usual bicker between lovers. "Leannie, since your boyfriend is here, then I shall leave!"

"Mel Leila, don't go! Hey..."

Yandel hugged Xylean tightly in his embrace. She pushed him away and lifted her hand to slap him.

"Yandel, I used to think that you are thick-skinned and don't care about reputation and dignity. Now, I realized that you're a complete scum! You are just a cheater who wants to enjoy two women in your life!"

Yandel frowned and questioned her, coldly, "What nonsense is this?"

Xylean stared at the red mark on his fair skin and sneered, "If I am your girlfriend, then who is the other person in the room?"

Yandel inched toward her and sighed. "Are you jealous?"

"Don't overthink it! I am leaving, so don't follow me!"

She tried to hobble out of the room with one leg. However, just as she was about to leave, Yandel pulled her back into his embrace again.

"Leannie, stop this foolishness!"

"Let me go!"

"What happened to your leg?"

He had been too agitated when he saw her, so he only realized her injury just then.

"It's none of your business!"

Xylean was stunned momentarily, while Yandel's hand was frozen in midair.

Xylean had infuriated and taunted Yandel intentionally many times in the past. However, no matter how angry he got, he had never hit her or punished her in front of another woman.

A sneer tugged at Xylean's mouth. "You've finally exposed your true personality? Yandel, you must have already been planning to hit me since the last time!"

"Leannie..."

Yandel's hand clenched into a fist.

Verian sensed that the atmosphere had turned even more tense and awkward, so she voluntarily tried to clarify the situation to Xylean. "I have only known Mr. Soan for a very short time. He said that I'm his long lost biological younger sister. So, Miss Yellen, you've really misunderstood us. He did not cheat on you with me."

Xylean's cheek blushed when she heard Verian's explanation. She was embarrassed and remorseful about what had happened. She gritted her teeth and turned her head away from Yandel.

She had misjudged them. That was her fault, but Yandel had slapped her too. She considered them even in that matter.

The doctor finally came into the room, so Yandel coldly said, "I shall excuse myself first."

The doctor helped Xylean to bandage her foot, and when she finally recovered her senses, she glanced toward Verian. She bit her lips in apology. "I'm sorry about just now."

Verian shook her head. "It is good that the misunderstanding is resolved. However, the quarrel between you and Mr. Soan seems to..."

Xylean smiled bitterly. "That is not something that could be cleared up so easily."

After a moment of silence, Xylean curiously peeked at Verian a few times more before she said, "You do look like Aunt Gaunt."

"Aunt Gaunt? Do you mean Mr. Soan's mother?"

"Yeah. Didn't you two acknowledge each other as siblings? Why do you still call him Mr. Soan?"

Verian brushed her neck in awkwardness. "This is too sudden for me. I still can't digest this for now. I have only known Mr. Soan for less than two days."

"Yandel has been looking for you all these years."

It seemed like Yandel did not lie to her, and his family had, indeed, been looking for their long-lost daughter.
