Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 29

The man’s flirtatious erotic statement made Verian Mont blush. She said, “Mr. Fudd, we were drunk that night and it was an accident.”

Verian Mont was about to throw up blood. Since the truth was that she had been slept with for nothing, how could he still act so innocently?

Heaton Fudd was usually always so serious, but he could actually be so scummy!

She exerted a strong voice as she stiffened her neck. She said firmly, “Heaton Fudd, what exactly do you want? Besides, it’s impossible for me to marry you!”

“Are you that certain?”

“I, let me tell you this, don’t you even think about using the mansion to blackmail me. We’ve had an agreement before this which is to only pretend to be a married couple to help you escape your family’s persistent marriage rush. However, if you dare use the Mont’s family mansion to lower my limits, I would rather give up that mansion!”

Verian Mont blurted out the entire statement in a single breath. Her heart was beating like a drum as her watery eyes locked onto Heaton Fudd. She was afraid that this man will break the agreement. She was gambling on Heaton Fudd’s trust since he was quite a reputable man in the business, meaning that he would honor his word.

That man was staring at her watery eyes with slightly raised eyebrows.

She was willing to give up on the Mont’s family mansion she desperately wanted before?

She was that hellbent on not getting married?

That moment of lust that ignited before faded away. That man glared at her with his dark pearly eyes. He released her coldly and calmly said, “I am not the kind of man to blackmail a person into marriage.”

Verian Mont bit her lips as she fixed her clothes. She felt slightly awful after hearing him say that.

Truly, he was only randomly picking a girl to get married with just to agitate Nancy Xander?

“How did you know I was staying in a hotel that night?”

This question was one she intended to ask for quite some time now. The only thing was that she never got the chance to.

Heaton Fudd raised his long slender finger that was holding onto a black pen. He paused as the tip of the pen left a tiny blot of ink on the paper. He replied with a deep tone without even raising his head. He said, “You called me several times and begged me to help you out. Why, have you forgotten about it?”

“...”

Verian Mont frowned while desperately trying to recall the incident from that night. However, she barely remembered much.

Even if she was begging for help, she would have never called this demon.

However, the following statement by that man almost made her cough blood.

“Not only that, when I rushed there, you were clinging onto me, begging me to take you.”

“...”

Cough, cough! Did she really?!

“I, that was because I was completely drunk and was trash talking. Don’t take that to heart…!”

“You’ve even said that you liked me. Is that trash talking, or the truth revealed by the alcohol?”

“...”

How could she not have any recollection of that memory?!

Her face blushed as if she was bleeding. She hastily changed topic. “I initially intended to just greet you. I will return to the mansion later though.”

Heaton Fudd remained silent.

Verian Mont thought he was displeased, so she hastily added, “I’ll be sure to return before dinner. All I want is to bring my father’s ashes back to the mansion and allow him to rest in peace.”

Heaton Fudd squinted with his dark pearly eyes and said, “The dead should rest in peace.”

“I… just want my father to be with me.”

Heaton Fudd’s dark pearly eyes flashed and said in a cold tone, “You can leave, I still have work to do.”

Verian Mont nodded and exited the study. She was slightly depressed.

It had been three years and her father could not even be buried. Heaton Fudd was right. The dead should rest in peace. Even though the truth of her father’s passing was hard for her to accept, she should bury her father.

Nancy Xander was standing outside the study while holding onto a plate of fruits.

She initially intended to bring some fruits to Heaton Fudd, however, she never expected she would overhear Heaton Fudd’s plan to buy a plot of land in the cemetery for Verian Mont’s father.

As she walked downstairs, she noticed Verian Mont was just about to leave the house with her bag. She hastily called out to her, “Verian Mont, hold up a second.”

“What is the matter, sister in law?”

“I’ve just heard from Heaton Fudd who told me your father has not been buried yet. The supervisor of South Hill Cemetery is one of my friends. I’ll tell him to keep a plot of land for your father.”

Verian Mont was stunned, she never expected Nancy Xander to help her. Besides, South Hill cemetery was one of the best cemeteries in South City. The cemetery plots were often hard to come by. She said, “That would be great. Thank you, sister in law. I’ll leave that… to you then.”

Nancy Xander smiled compassionately and said, “Don’t worry about it. We’re all family. I’ll contact my friend in a moment.”

After Verian Mont had left, Nancy Xander returned to her room. She took a look at the pictures the private investigator had sent her. The picture showed Verian Mont and Leafy Bodd cuddling intimately with each other at the bar that night.

This Verian Mont was actually also seducing Bodd Yellen!

She made a phone call, “Hello, Manager Anne. It’s me, Nancy. There’s a favor I need you to help me with. Do you know his nephew, Bodd Yellen?”

“Of course, I do, it’s the master of the Bodd family!”

“Yellen’s girlfriend’s father had passed away and had a hard time finding a good plot of land to bury. Can you help her father secure a plot?”

“Of course, I can. Since it’s an order by Miss Xander, it’s nothing but a small favor!”

Nancy Xander grinned and said, “Then, I’ll send you her contact details. I’ll cash in the cemetery plot fees into your account. Oh, that’s right Manager Anne, please don’t tell them I did it alright? Just say it’s from Yellen. You know Manager Anne, gotta show some sincerity when getting the girl right?”

“Alright. I didn’t expect Miss Xander to be so great at managing the household. I’ll get it done straightaway for you.”

After the phone call ended, Nancy Xander chuckled coldly. Hmph, since she was so clingy with Bodd Yellen, Nancy Xander would fulfil both their wishes!
