Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 214

Verian felt slightly worried as she asked, “Doctor, will my child be affected?”

“Based on your current condition, you should be fine. However, if the progesterone levels gets too low, there’s an increased risk of getting a miscarriage, so you should be very aware of yourself and not engage in any sexual activities.”

Verian's tiny face blushed. Since how did such a serious topic suddenly touch on engaging in sexual activities, especially when there were so many people present in this room.

After Dr. Lewis left, Serene ran over to Verian’s side and asked, “Verian, your pace is a little too fast now! Not only are you married, you’re also a mother! You aren’t the first mother in our class now, right?”

Verian’s face blushed at the question as she bashfully changed the topic. “That’s right, what are you doing here?”

“I’m undergoing my practical placement here in this hospital. However, it’s truly a coincidence to run into you here!”

Wilson walked over. After giving Heaton’s shoulder a pat, he said, “I took a look at the numbers in the report earlier. It’s normal to have low progesterone levels so don’t worry too much.”

Serene was stunned. “Master, you know Verian’s husband too?”

Heaton took a glance at Serene and said, “This is?”

“My protege.”

“My high school classmate whom I shared a desk with.”

Both Wilson and Verian spoke at the same time. Serene cheerfully squinted her eyes with a huge smile on her face as she extended her tiny hand toward Heaton and said, “I shared a desk with Verian in highschool. I’m also Director Jarret’s protege.”

Heaton looked at that hand and had no intention of shaking it. Wilson raised his huge hand without any emotion as he immediately grabbed onto Serene’s tiny hand and said, “Let’s go and allow your classmate to rest well.”

Serene frowned. “Master, I haven’t asked for Verian’s WeChat account!”

However, Wilson was already dragging her halfway out of the room.

Finally, the room was silent.

Verian was a little stunned as she stared at Wilson’s and Serene’s backs as they left.

“What are you looking at?”

Verian laughed. “Not sure why, but I just feel like your friend, Wilson has a crush on my classmate.”

When Wilson held onto Serene’s tiny hand earlier, he seemed very protective.

Heaton raised his hand and tapped her forehead as he said, “Stomach doesn’t hurt anymore? You’re free enough to care about other people’s matters.”

Verian grabbed onto his huge hand as she leaned closer to his chest and said, “Heaton, nothing’s gonna happen to the child, right?”

“No, didn’t the doctor say that as long as a fixed checkup is done, it’ll all be fine.”

“Yeah, I was scared to death earlier.”

Heaton took a deep breath. Not only was she terrified, he felt as if his heart would leap out of his throat when he received her phone call during the meeting.

He had never felt so nervous or concerned before. Even more so, terrified.

Heaton hugged her arm, tightening it slightly while his handsome chin was placed on top of her head. He spoke in a soft tone, “I’ll be staying in the hospital with you today. Don’t be afraid.”

“Didn’t the doctor say I was fine? You should go back to work.”

After Verian accepted it, she began texting Serene.

Serene said, “You best come clean, where’d you find such a handsome husband! So after you graduated high school and kept yourself hidden for so many years, you were out finding yourself a husband and giving birth to your child!”

Verian blushed. Although it was normal for people her age to get pregnant, her age was still quite young. However, would she want to tell Serene that she actually already had a three-year-old daughter?

She was afraid of Serene fainting so Verian decided to keep it a secret. She replied, “A husband this handsome though… I found him randomly.”

Of course, Verian felt happy after Serene praised Heaton for how handsome he looked. Who would not have the pride of a woman?

“Hmph, next time we hang out, I will punish you severely.”

“Alright, we’ll hang out next time. Don’t you stand me up.”

When Verian was sharing a desk with Serene, they never left each other’s side. They would eat together and return home together. Such revolutionary friendship was not something anyone could possibly compete against. If it was not for the drastic change that happened to her family, she would never have broken contact with Serene for so many years.

Serene replied with a sad emoji. “Sigh... Hang out eh? I’m now currently being placed under Hades’ training and absolutely do not have my own personal time. It’s fine enough to work during the day, he still wanted me to work overtime with him at night! How inhumane! I just wanted to apply for a noon leave to celebrate Chainer’s birthday, but Hades himself is unwilling o(╯□╰)o!”

The Chainer Serene mentioned was someone Verian knew as well. He was also a classmate from high school. The only thing was, Chainer was not dating Serene back in highschool. Perhaps, they got in touch with each other after that and began dating. Verian thought about questioning her the next time they meet. However, Serene sent another text.

“Verian, isn’t your husband close with that Hades Jarret? Could you ask your husband to help me out a little? Today’s Chainer’s birthday but Hades Jarret is holding me hostage, so how can I go on ahead to celebrate Chainer’s birthday?”

Verian’s heart twitched and just as she raised her head to look at Heaton, the man scoffed as he snatched the phone away from her hand and said, “I am here to keep you company and you’re keeping your phone company?”

Verian was speechless.

Verian inched closer as she toyed with his collar with her tiny hand and said, “I was very close with Serene in our school days and haven’t seen her in years so I was just catching up with her. Serene wanted to celebrate her boyfriend’s birthday this noon and to take the noon off from Director Jarret. However, Director Jarret seemed unwilling. Could you tell him to allow her to take the noon off?”
