Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 207

While they had breakfast, Verian was still mumbling about the incident. She felt quite perplexed by it.

Heaton would usually be quite agitated when he woke up. As rage sparked in his heart, he said with a bad temper, “Eat well and don’t talk during the meal.”

Heaton felt unreasonably jealous as he listened to how much Verian missed the Heaton who had called her ‘babe’ from last night.

There existed a type of vinegar that was most sour, and that was vinegar that one had no right to taste.

Getting jealous of oneself would only be intentionally seeking trouble since this wave of anger could not be vented and was possibly incomparable.

Verian was slightly annoyed but she still kept her mouth shut as she silently ate her breakfast.

It was he who had shifted personality so quickly, so how could he still get furious at her?

After breakfast was done, Verian returned to the house to pack without saying a word. Heaton raised his brows and said, “Where are you going?”

Verian remained silent.

Verian did not speak a word.

“Speak.” The man frowned deeper as his tone grew slightly more impatient.

While biting her lips, she intentionally said, “... Didn’t you not allow me to speak earlier?”

Since he told her not to speak, it would be best for her to not speak. How annoying.

It was rare for Heaton to be talked back to. He stood up and pulled her back before sitting her down on a chair. He said, “Sit here and I’ll go pack.”

Verian was speechless.

His tone was not gentle and even his gestures seemed slightly unreasonable. However, Verian’s mood seemed to have improved in that instant.

Verian felt completely filled with joy as she looked at the elegant man packing her things in her tiny room with a bitter look on his face.

He had to remember how he treated her last night for sure. Perhaps, he was too embarrassed and was trying desperately to deny it?

So it seemed that Heaton too, felt embarrassment? Suddenly, Verian felt that Heaton looked slightly adorable in her heart…

However, the term adorable seemed truly unfitting to Heaton’s cold and elegant image…

Heaton had always been efficient in doing things. Hence, it did not take long for him to finish packing Verian’s things.

The truth was that there was nothing too important for Verian to pack. She did not bring much when she came over to S City and had not bought anything too huge in the half month’s time she lived here. As such, a small luggage bag was enough to pack her entire belongings away.

“Take a look to see if there’s anything you’ve left behind.”

Verian recalled something important. “Wait a bit.”

Verian took out a water-colored painting from her drawer before carefully placing it in her luggage.

“What’s that?”

“It’s a painting Little Jelly Bean gave me. I’ve always kept it with me.”

On the brightly colored painting was a happy family of three. It was a painting of Heaton and Verian holding onto her.

The cloud of bitterness at the bottom of Heaton’s eyes faded away slightly.

The doorbell rang and Verian said, “I’ll answer the door. Maybe it’s the chestnut cake I ordered.”

Since the drive back to North City would take four to five hours, Verian ordered two chestnut cakes to eat during the journey when she got bored.

Upon arriving at the front porch, she immediately opened up the door to accept her takeout order. Suddenly a sharp knife was placed on her slender neck. The edge of the blade was pressed on her jugular vein. Verian’s face immediately turned pale as she was terrified. She could not call out for help as she found herself unable to utter a single sound.

“Heaton Fudd! Don’t you lie to me! Do you think that I don’t know that you want me to free this woman!”

Heaton’s eyes were cold. He gently and elegantly rubbed the intricately-made sleeve button of his expensive shirt. He calmly said, “To tell you the truth, I’ve been long married and this woman is nothing more than a mistress I took care of in S City. I just dislike it when people touch my belongings. However, she isn’t as important to me as you’d imagined. You can kill her here and I’ll call the cops immediately to collect both your corpse and hers…”

Every single word was cold-blooded and devoid of a single shred of humanity.

Heaton’s cover was exceptional as Carlos was unable to tell if Heaton was lying or not. “Heaton Fudd! I didn’t expect you to be so merciless!”

Amidst the chaos, Verian met Heaton’s gaze for a second and suddenly started bawling her eyes out. “Heaton Fudd! I didn’t expect you to be so horrible! I’ve slept with you for three years and this is how you treat me! If I die, I’ll haunt you as a ghost!”

Carlos was unable to keep her under control as Verian cried and wailed. He yelled out, “You better be honest with me! I’ll murder you if you keep moving!”

“Just kill me then! Since no one is coming to save me! Heaton, since you’re so ruthless, all I ask is one thing from you, if I’m murdered by him, you have to make him come with me to the underworld! Or else, I’ll haunt you every night!”

Heaton cracked a grin. “Alright, I promise you that. If he kills you, I’ll leave him with an incomplete corpse.”

Carlos started to panic as his expression instantly turned pale. “You! Heaton Fudd! I didn’t expect you to be so ruthless!”

Heaton’s tone grew incredibly cold. “I have so many enemies in the market, how can I survive if I’m not ruthless? Her? If you want to kill her, be my guest. Riana, I’ll send him down to the underworld in a bit. Don’t be afraid.”

Carlos was incredibly furious!

It was when Carlos hesitated that Heaton shot a glance at her as Verian grabbed onto Carlos’ arm and violently bit down on him!

“Ah!”

Carlos released his arm and Verian immediately rushed toward Heaton. However, Carlos’ knife violently thrust forward from behind her!

“You dare toy with me! I’ll kill you!”

The knife was glimmering with a cold light as he forcefully stabbed the knife toward Verian’s back!
