Upon arriving at the Prosperity Company’s main entrance, Verian actually felt that it would truly be overkill to have Heaton personally arrive to collect her half month’s worth of pay. “Are we actually going to collect half a month’s worth of pay?”

The man immediately got out of the car, his attitude extremely determined. Verian then got out of the car with Heaton.

While following behind them, Kush said, “The Prosperity Company’s boss is David Holmes. He had expanded into North City a few years ago. Boss, if you could recall, you should remember this person.”

Heaton remembered who it was. He had met that person way back then in North City. The man was exceptionally cunning but not bold at all. Hence, his business was fated to be mediocre. Building a business not only relied on one’s wisdom, connections, and management. Courage was also required. Since new industries were booming in North City in recent years and David was unable to compete against these huge companies, he decided to pack up and return to his hometown of S City, thus starting the Prosperity Company.

Upon entering the Prosperity Company, they immediately noticed Harry. The instant Harry noticed Verian, waves of fury began rushing from his heart as he gritted his teeth and stared furiously at her. “Verian Mont! Bold of you to return to the company!”

Verian however, was not even the slightest bit nervous. It was probably due to the support next to her that caused her to be exceptionally more confident. “Manager Leonard, I’m here today to get the resignation procedure done.”

Harry scoffed coldly. “Resignation procedure? There’s no need for you to do all of that, you were terminated last night!”

Heaton’s dark pearly eyes were sharp and cold. “When your company decides on terminating an employee, shouldn’t a valid reason be given as well?”

“Reason?” Harry pointed at Verian and said, “Last night, it was she who caused a close business deal to fall through, causing our company to lose a huge sum of money. That’s the reason!”

“Having a business deal fall through is a normal occurrence. However, terminating an employee due to failing to secure a business deal is fine provided a fair labor reimbursement fee is given as well.”

Harry scoffed and said, “So after all that, she still wishes to get her pay? I’m telling you both to keep dreaming!”

When Verian had first entered the company, she thought that Harry was quite friendly and approachable. However, with just a single day’s worth of effort, Harry’s image had completely crumbled in Verian’s heart. This person was behaving way too immaturely.

Heaton raised his chin up slightly to signal Kush behind him. “Get President Holmes here.”

Kush nodded. “Sure.”

It was only after Harry listened to Heaton’s tone did he start judging the man in front of him. This man wore a black windbreaker with an intricately textured inner white shirt. Underneath the shirt was an expensive leather belt, while long legs were enveloped by a pair of black jeans. As he stood there, he seemed to be emanating elegance, which made him seem quite the spectacle to gaze upon. Especially when the man’s body emitted the aura of a high-class man, and not a single person dared to look down on him.

This man actually knew President Holmes. Could this man’s status be that high?

However, since Verian was merely an insignificant staff member in the Prosperity Company, how could it be possible for him to know someone of such high status?

With that thought in mind, Harry was instantly not afraid anymore. He felt that this man was merely pretending to be someone of status. He might have possibly learnt of President Holmes from Verian and now, he was merely trying to intimidate him. If he was truly spectacular, would he even care about a meager half a month’s worth of pay?

With that, Harry grew even more arrogant as he took another look at Heaton’s belt around his waist, and he let out a cold scoff, assuming that it should be a fake.

Since the Prosperity Company was not huge, the entire staff from the company came gathering around with such a commotion caused.

The female staff from the marketing department were having a lively discussion as they watched.

“That man is Monty’s boyfriend? How come she never mentioned it before?”

“Yeah. If that’s her real boyfriend, he’s way too handsome!”

“That man is…criminally handsome!”

It was only natural for Verian to overhear the discussions around her as they all talked about Heaton. This made her heart feel slightly proud since she had such a handsome man standing up for her right now. Besides… He had also mentioned that he was her man earlier, so her heart now felt as if it were coated with several layers of sweetness. It felt so thick that she seemed to be drowning in it.

Heaton felt the tiny hand that was holding onto him grip tighter as their fingers crossed. It felt like she was fully dependent on him.

Heaton suddenly hugged Verian’s shoulder, pulling the tiny woman into him. He lowered his handsome face and asked with a deep voice, “Madam Fudd, you didn’t tell them who your husband is? Am I such an embarrassment?”

Verian was speechless.

Verian’s tiny face gradually began blushing red.

David was completely shocked beyond belief…

He was fortunate enough to meet Heaton a few years ago, and all he knew about him was how ruthless this man could be in the market. Upon meeting the real man, he was also quite intimidated. With Heaton’s status, there were very few people he would even pay attention to but when he spoke to Verian, there was a subtle smile in his eyes, and even the tone of his voice was gentle. It was as if he was a completely different person.

However, when this man looked at people, he remained the usual cold and full of pride demeanor. Even when he spoke, he sounded slightly menacing. David immediately chuckled and said while buttering up to him, “President Fudd, I truly had no clue that Miss Mont is your wife. Had I known, I wouldn’t even dare let her work in our crappy company and would’ve treated her immensely well! President Fudd, when Madam Fudd started working in our company, she wrote that she was not married yet in the marital status part of her employment form. Who could’ve even guessed her status… Not a single person could’ve guessed Madam Fudd would come working in a small company in S City though. President Fudd, Madam Fudd, if there is any offences me or my company has caused, please find it in your generous hearts to forgive our negligence.”

“My wife and I aren’t people who would hold onto a grudge but last night, one of your staff brought my wife out to keep your clients company. If I hadn’t made it in time, my wife was worried she would have been taken back and forced to be a sexual bargaining chip for a business deal.”

David’s eyes immediately trembled as even his face turned pale. He immediately yelled at Harry who was next to him. “Who gave you the right to do something so disgraceful! Using a female staff for a business deal? Who taught you that? You have to apologize to Madam Fudd right now! Apologize right now!”

By offending Madam Fudd now and doing something that had crossed the line felt similar to slapping Heaton across the face. How could Heaton not be mad?

If Heaton got mad, his crappy little company would be in danger…
