Heaton immediately grabbed her erratically moving tiny hands and pulled her into him. He warned her with a soft tone in her ear, “You’re not allowed to flirt with that Zack dude ever again.”
Flirt?
“When have I ever flirted with Zack? I didn’t…”
Heaton stared at her while frowning as he helped her wipe the tears off her face.
“I was merely depressed from being treated so coldly by you the entire day. When you wanted me to leave, it would have been impractical for me to sit out there alone for an entire noon now, right?”
Heaton grabbed onto her hand while leading her forward without looking back. He ordered her in a deep tone, “You’re not allowed to smile at other guys next time.”
Verian’s tiny face blushed. “You’re too unreasonable. Then why don’t you just tell me to never look at other guys?”
“If you can pull it off then obviously, I wouldn’t mind.”
Verian was speechless.
Verian caught up to him as she looked up with her watery eyes while stealing a glance at him. She pouted and said, “You have so many requests for me, can I also make a request to my so-called boyfriend?”
After Verian’s tantrum, Heaton’s mood seemed to have recovered plenty so he was all ears. “Go ahead.”
“You’re not allowed to randomly treat me coldly or ignore me. You have to spoil me, comfort me, and treat me well…”
“Riana, isn’t your request a bit too much?”
Heaton paused as his burningly warm gaze was fixed onto her. Verian let out a soft grunt. “If you think my requests are a little too much then fine, I don’t wanna be your girlfriend anymore…”
As she spoke, she flung his hand away but was once again pulled into Heaton’s embrace.
Verian did not struggle. She asked, “So by hugging me, it means you’ve agreed to it?”
“Yeah.”
Heaton gave a simple reply.
“You’re not allowed to go to the sea’s entertainment area next time.”
He said that out of nowhere as Verian Mont asked in a puzzled tone, “Why?”
“It’s too dangerous.”
Verian was completely baffled but after coming to an understanding, she said, “You’re this mad because I went to the entertainment area on the sea?”
However, it was extremely difficult to imagine that Heaton would be afraid of that?
With a much deeper thought, she asked, “Heaton, was it because you were completely traumatized from the shipwreck that it made you dislike the sea?”
Heaton’s dark eyes dimmed but he did not deny it.
If he had denied it, Verian would have probed deeper so there was no harm in having her assume that was the case.
Verian raised her hands and hugged him. She mumbled in a soft tone as if comforting a child, “Don’t be afraid, dear Heah. We’ll never go near the sea in future.”
The man’s brows twitched slightly as he immediately grabbed onto her wrist. “What did you just call me?”
Verian flung her hand away and walked forward with her hands behind her back while pretending to not have heard him. “Just Heaton.”
“Say it again.”
How could Heaton be this easy to mess with? With that, he grabbed onto her tiny hands and ordered her.
Verian glared at him intentionally. “I don’t wanna.”
Who told him to be so mean to her during the day?
Heaton held onto her hand as they walked toward the hotel, and he spoke in a deep tone, “Start calling me that next time.”
“Heah?”
“Yeah.”
That man responded in a neutral nasally tone.
Verian’s fingers, which were being held by him, gently moved as she tickled his palm. The man frowned but his gaze was filled with compassion and love.
Verian felt that after an argument, her relationship with Heaton grew much sweeter.
Love truly was made from turmoil.
…
Once again that night, Heaton was having that nightmare.
“No!”
Heaton was usually calm but his emotions were out of control in the past two days. Was it all due to Sammie?
Heaton was a calm man. No matter what situation he was facing, he would remain calm. Now however, upon mentioning Sammie, he seemed to have transformed into a different person. There would only be one reason for his drastic change in behavior: he cared about Sammie or else, why would he refuse to comment just from her simply asking him about it?
They did not speak another word throughout the journey back to North City.
When they got off the plane, it was already twelve noon.
Kush drove down to pick them up. After they entered the car, Heaton ordered, “Head back to the Fudd family home.”
However, Verian said, “I want to go back to my home.”
Heaton’s gaze dimmed. “Little Jelly Bean’s been waiting for you for a lot of days now. She misses you dearly.”
Upon mentioning Little Jelly Bean, Verian could not hold back since Heaton knew about her soft spots to force her to obey him.
Heaton wanted to place his hand on Verian’s lap throughout the journey but she dodged out of his way.
The man’s gaze grew colder but he remained silent without saying a word.
When they returned to the Fudd family home, Heaton entered the house with Verian. When Little Jelly Bean who was playing with a jigsaw puzzle by herself on the couch looked up, she noticed Verian.
“Monty!”
The little rascal rushed over and hugged Verian immediately.
Verian had not seen the little rascal in days so she missed her dearly.
“Monty! I missed you so much! You won’t leave me next time, right?”
Verian was stunned by her question but she said, “I might have to return to the Mont family home these days but I assure you that I’ll visit you, okay?”
Heaton’s expression grew cold while he stood on the side.
She still wanted to return to the Mont family home?
“I won’t allow that.”
