Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1116

Time would fly the fastest during a card game.

It was already past four in the afternoon in the blink of an eye.

Shayne's phone was lit during the card game. Someone had sent him a text through Messenger.

Lucas who was sitting beside him took a curious glance over with his face and noticed the sender's name to be Yanny. He teased, "Yanny? Yanny! Guy, why don't we take a wild guess who that Yanny could be! Could that person be a man, a woman, or something else?"

Shayne gave Lucas another kick as he said, "How dare you be distracted after losing so much? Are you trying to leave completely naked tonight?"

Lucas placed his cards on the table and said, "Let me just be clear with you guys right now. I won't be wasting time with you guys later tonight because I need to head back home for a reunion dinner. You guys can play for as long as you want. I'll be on my way now."

Heaton threw his cards on the table as well as he said, "Let's just end the game for this year. I need to bring Little Jelly Bean home to have a reunion dinner with my old man. I also have to light fireworks with Little Jelly Bean too."

Shayne looked at Rodney.

Rodney immediately waved his hands around as he said, "Oh, don't look at me. I'm not free either. I have to take care of something later as well."

"You bunch of b*stards. You guys are useless!"

Lucas cracked a teasing smile as he nudged Shayne with his shoulder and said, "Oh, you can't be serious, Shayne. Does Yanny know about your guilty pleasure?"

"Leave!"

Shayne wanted to kick his butt but Lucas swiftly ran out with his coat so Shayne missed.

After everyone had all left, Shayne slowly unlocked his phone and read the text.

[I want to look at the Acadia tree and was wondering if you're free, Shayne.] Yanny wrote.

'Look at the Acadia tree? Oh, it was that dumb tree that was still planted in my courtyard which someone claimed to alleviate feelings of yearning.'

Shayne ignored her text and continued to stay and have fun at the Orchid Bar.

He was behaving like a rebellious child that had just reached puberty.

Perhaps the Orchid Bar was too lively and Shayne was too caught up in his fun, but it was already past ten at night before he knew it.

'It's already ten and reunion dinners are over.'

It was only then that Shayne picked up his jacket and draped it on his shoulder before casually walking toward the Orchid Bar’s basement parking.

Even if Yanny had been waiting at the Luna Mansion all this while, she should have left by now since it was already ten.

However, Shayne did not feel even slightly bad toward her. All he wanted was to stand her up as much as possible to have her feel how it actually felt to be continuously stood up.

When the silver Bugatti arrived at the Luna Mansion's entrance, Shayne initially thought that he was hallucinating as he even intentionally flickered his headlamps at the mansion's gate. A woman was actually sitting by the gate and looked absolutely stunning.

'Wow. She's actually gotten much better in waiting after being overseas for two years.'

Shayne got out of the car and stood by the door while holding onto its hood. He casually teased, "I actually thought that the heavens felt I'm too lonely and gave me a beautiful female ghost to spend New Year's Eve with. After wondering about it for so long, it turns out to only be you, Miss Joy. Are you trying to be a model by sitting by the gate of my home?"

Yanny was blinded by the headlamps as she reached out to block the lights. Since she had been sitting there for a while, her legs had gotten numb and had lost all feeling when she got up. She smiled at him despite the blinding headlamps as she said, "Judging from the tone of your voice, you sound very disappointed to find out that it's not a ghost?"

"Well, of course. Beautiful female ghosts are quite exciting."

"It seems to me that I shouldn't have dressed up so beautifully and should have dressed up as a female ghost."

Shayne was intentionally being snarky at her but upon seeing her unfazed and calm look, Shayne felt frustrated as he said, "I don't have time to mess around with you. Move aside, I need to get in."

Yanny did not stand in his way as she moved aside, allowing Shayne to drive his car in.

The only thing was that when Shayne got out of the car, he noticed Yanny had already entered the courtyard uninvited and was standing underneath the Acacia tree.

"Who allowed you to enter?" Shayne placed both arms on his waist as he stared at her from a nearby spot.

She buried her face into Shayne's back before speaking in a clear and loving tone, "Happy New Year's Eve, John."

Shayne's body felt stiff as he stood there speechless. He even forgot to push her arms away as he simply allowed her to hug him.

He could not describe how he felt at the moment.

Yanny took a deep breath as she pressed herself against his back before slowly saying, "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting again. I know that you want to ignore me and I'm already used to you treating me coldly whenever you're sad. You can ignore me but please allow me to stay by your side, okay? Until you want to speak to me again."

Just as Shayne was about to rip her tight hands away from his waist, his hands fell as soon as he raised them.

All he could hear was her speaking in a soft tone while hugging him from behind. "I'm sorry for making you feel that love felt awful for you."

Her series of apologies directly struck his heart as it trembled.

He had never once hoped that for someone as prideful as Yanny would someday hug his waist and repeatedly apologize to him.

Shayne held back his loving gaze until Yanny said, "According to Psychology, the more we avoid someone, it often means that we care deeply for them. We instinctively avoid them because we're nervous and we portray a pretentious and calm demeanor only because we’re afraid of hurting one another. Hence, you can continue to ignore me. I’ll just treat your ignorance as your form of caring and loving me. I’ll make it up to you even more than before starting from now."

Shayne pulled Yanny's arms away before suddenly pinning her against the door without leaving her any time to think as he kissed her passionately.

While their breathing felt labored, the kiss felt painfully warm.

Winter felt agonizingly cold in the middle of the night but Yanny still sweated slightly from the kiss.

Shayne's gaze looked bright and deep while his cold aura was able to freeze her to death. However, his warmth felt boiling hot to her.

Yanny was hugging his neck tightly while they kissed deeper and harder.

It was the most intense punishment for her.

However, Yanny never struggled as she willing submitted to him
