Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1071

Yanny suddenly felt a little lost when she returned to the Blue Water Residential Area from the hospital as she stared at the main gate.

Shayne would be waiting for her to get home around the same time at the same spot last new year's eve.

She remembered how Shayne used to look like when he hopped up and down by the stairwell just to keep himself warm. She also recalled just how Shayne used to trap her in his embrace while passionately kissing her as if she was his girlfriend. She also remembered how he looked, when he kissed her.

She remembered every memory vividly.

Those memories seemed insignificant to her back then. However, it seemed that she felt lost because of them.

She let out a brief sigh, entered the pin and entered the house.

'Shayne… will never return anymore.'

She felt a little stunned when that thought flashed in her head. However, she chuckled in the dark as if she was mocking herself.

She could not believe that she would have feelings for a playboy.

Yanny leaned back against the door, and took a deep breath in order to stop herself from thinking about those things.

Her phone chimed.

It was a text from her Messenger app.

'Hmm… Samuel Lane… It's been so long.'

[Happy New Year, Yanny.]

It was almost midnight in her country at the moment and it should be around nightfall in London.

She could not understand why he would still send her a greeting after such a long time had gone by.

Yanny ignored his text.

She noticed that the other person was still typing. He had been typing for a really long time and Yanny actually thought that she would not receive anything else from him anymore.

However, Samuel wrote, [I'm coming back home soon.]

Yanny leaned against the door while clutching her phone tightly in her hand as she was overwhelmed by a mix of emotions after reading the text.

He left to study in London without saying a word back then nor did he even discuss the matter with her back.

However, it still felt like a bombshell to her when he told her that he was returning home.

The truth was, they had broken up with each other four years ago. What exactly did he want for telling her all of that anyway?

Yanny did not reply to Samuel at all.

After she was done with her shower and while she was lying in bed, she noticed that Samatha had made a post when she was scrolling through Facebook.

[It really sucks to be me since I'm spending my New Year's Eve with my sick brother.] An annoyed emoji was attached at the end of the caption.

She also posted a picture along with that caption. It was a picture of a thermometer reading which read 39 degrees celsius.

Samatha pinned a comment, [He had a fever when he didn't properly treat his burns but he's fine now.]

Yanny was stunned.

Shayne was injured because of her and she felt a little bad about it.

It seemed that she had even hit his burnt back with her high heels in a fit of rage too.

Since Yanny did not want to continue dwelling or thinking about that matter, she decided to stop looking at her phone and tried her best to fall asleep.

However, she obviously had a very hard time sleeping that night.

While she was in a daze, Samatha spammed Yanny with a series of urgent calls.

Yanny decided to answer the calls, "Hello, Samantha?"

Samantha's voice sounded extremely frantic through the call. "Yanny, my brother's temperature is now forty degrees celsius but he still refuses to go to the hospital. He will no doubt suffer brain damage if this continues. My brother listens to you the most. Can you help me talk some sense into him?"

"Oh… well… I didn't think of that… and besides, my brother wasn't this bad earlier. He was so adamant about not going to the hospital when he was still conscious."

Yanny did not think much of it as she said, "Carry his arm for me. We'll discuss this after we send your brother to the hospital."

Both Yanny and Samatha carried an arm each while they guided Shayne into the car.

Yanny was driving while Samatha was in the back seat with Shayne.

After arriving at the hospital and registering Shayne, the nurse came over, cannulated him and put him on an IV drip.

Yanny took a glance at the rate the IV drip was going and slowed it down so Shayne would not wake up with a swollen arm.

It seemed Shayne would have to stay in the hospital for a couple of days with the condition he was in.

Yanny said, "Hey Samantha, watch over your brother for me. I'll bring some water over."

"Oh, sure."

Not long after Yanny exited the room with a bottle, Shayne opened his eyes.

The pain on his back was so sharp, that he cringed and nearly blurted out curses.

It seemed that Samantha was actually playing League of Legends on her phone at the moment.

Shayne scolded her, "I'm nearly dead and here you are still playing your damn game. Are you even human, Samantha Jinn?"

Samantha stood her ground as Shayne scolded her. She kept her phone away and said, "Look, you don't seem to be anywhere close to death to me, big bro and besides, only evil men would reign a thousand years right?"

Shayne's eyes looked red due to his fever while his skin was cold and clammy. He looked like a complete wreck as he let out a cough and said, "Where's Yanny?"

"She went to get you some water."

Shayne laid on his side in pain.

Shayne immediately closed his eyes when Yanny returned with the bottle of water.
