When Cara thought of the intimate photo of Shayne hugging Yanny to sleep, the loathing in her became stronger.
“Yanny, you’re the one that forced my hand.” She clenched her fist so tight her fingers were hurting her palms. She could not wait to chop Yanny into pieces.
Cara found Samuel’s address in England in the drawers. From the storeroom, she found Yanny’s old notebooks.
She started learning how to imitate Yanny’s handwriting. She planned to imitate her handwriting and send Samuel a letter.
Since Yanny wanted to fight with her for Master Shayne, Yanny should not blame her for eliminating the problem at its root.
After dinner, Cara asked Lina for some money. She wanted to register for a calligraphy class from an external organization.
Since she wanted to go ahead with her plan, she had to do it perfectly and not let others find out.
…
On the first day of the Lunar New Year, around five in the evening, Yanny made an early dinner. After dinner, Yanny walked Shayne to his car outside.
Shayne tugged on her hand and asked curtly, “When are you going back?”
“I thought I said on the sixth day?”
Today was the first day.
Shayne glanced at her coldly and said haughtily, “You are willing to let your boyfriend be alone for five cold nights?”
Yanny cocked her head and looked at him. “How about I find you on the fifth day?”
“Fourth day,” Shayne said determinedly.
“Okay, then I’ll go back after lunch.”
Yanny and Shayne just left the alley when three small kids three lit a firecracker and threw it at Shayne’s feet!
Bang!
The firecracker exploded loudly.
The three kids covered their ears and ran away laughing at Shayne.
Shayne roared, “You brats are asking for a beating!”
The three kids were not afraid of people at all. The three of them lit another one and threw it over. Before the firecracker could go off, Shayne stepped on it immediately to put out the flame.
The three kids were in shock. They saw that Shayne was about to give them a beating so they immediately ran off, clenching their fists.
Shayne frowned. “Whose kids are they? They need to be taught a lesson.”
Yanny looked at him smiling. “Are you alright?”
“It’s just a small firecracker, what can it do? Why are you still smiling? It’s good enough that I didn’t beat them up.”
Yanny tried to hold back her laughter. “I’ll go teach the three of them a lesson on your behalf later on.”
‘Hmph, that’s more like it.’
Shayne went into his car and shut the door. He rolled the window down and said to Yanny, “I’m leaving.”
“Okay, drive safe.”
Yanny looked at her tender, pretty face. She was becoming more and more obedient to him for the past few days, making him treasure her more and more. He always wanted to kiss her intensely and tell everyone that Yanny belonged to him so no one could covet her.
Shayne started the car but did not step on the gas pedal. He gritted his teeth, feeling reluctant. He waved to Yanny outside the window. “Come here,” he said in a domineering tone.
Yanny approached the car and looked at him, “What happened? Is something wrong with the car after having firecrackers thrown by the kids?”
The Lunar New Year holidays went by extremely quickly.
When spring break was over, Yanny was in school for half a month when someone came to their school and held auditions looking for a female lead.
Yanny and her schoolmates all tried it out. Yanny relied on her natural acting skills and stunning face. She was selected by the film industry giant, Director Larry Cross, as his female lead. She became the youngest Larry Girl, an actress personally selected by Larry.
This meant by the end of March, Yanny needed to go to the film set to start shooting.
Larry’s new movie was a period art film called Black and White that received much attention from the public. The shooting period was quite long as well. It took almost a year to finish. Yanny needed to stay with the cast and learn about acting and getting into character.
This time, Yanny relied on her own talents to get the role. Even Shayne was slightly surprised that Larry Cross would pick her as his female lead.
It seemed like Yanny was shining brighter and brighter.
Ever since entering the film set, Yanny had been busy. By day, she would have to study her script and shoot. Sometimes she would have to work at night as well. She was so busy she felt like puking and barely had the energy to call Shayne. Their conversation via messages was quite stagnant as well.
Furthermore, the countryside in Oz City did not have good coverage so Yanny often could not receive messages.
To get the cast into character and let them live as the character during the shooting, Larry confiscated all of the casts’ handphones and forbade them from keeping in contact with the outside world.
Yanny’s lead character was called Felicia Riley. Sometimes, she would not understand the role so Yanny would sulkily squat down by the corner and think in silence.
Larry was impressed with Yanny. When they were shooting the behind-the-scenes documentary, the interviewer asked Larry, “I heard that you’ve picked a complete newcomer as your new Larry Girl. Furthermore, she’s only a sophomore at North City Film Academy. It was a bold choice. What do you see in her?”
Larry looked at the camera, nodded slightly, and contemplated for a while. He replied, “The symbolism of this newcomer is stronger. Like my other previous Larry Girls, she’s stunning at first glance. She doesn’t just look pretty, but more importantly, she has a spirited aura.
“From her sharp eyes, I see determination. My first impression of her was that this girl is a fighter. She’s very resilient. I see the character, Felicia Riley, in her eyes. Like her character, she does not admit defeat easily and does not adhere to dogmatic principles.”
“I’ve seen the promotional photos, I realized that this Larry Girl could be caked make-up and it would still be hard to hide her exquisite and pretty face. She’s the type of girl you don’t have to purposely pay attention to, yet you will find yourself somehow unconsciously laying your eyes on her. Do you think her good looks are an advantage for her?”
Larry replied truthfully, “Of course, looks are Yanny’s advantage. Firstly, she has to have a face for the screen for her to actually be cast in films. This is God-given. Especially her eyes. They’re not old and jaded, yet they still have a strong story behind them. You have to admit, a lot of actresses are beautiful but are merely flower vases. There are no stories to be built on them. I think we always emphasize a high-class face is suitable for films. Aesthetically speaking, Yanny is not only beautiful on the outside, but she has great bone structure too.”
