Yanny still felt that Zander looked familiar when they were sitting across each other in the Lover’s Real Estate agent’s office to sign their contract.
She looked at Zander’s signature and could not help but to ask, “Mr. Lucas, have we met each other before?”
Zander smirked and said, “Ms. Yanny, I know you’re a true beauty, but don’t you think your pick-up line is too outdated? Moreover, I have a wife and I’m loyal to her.”
Yanny let out a faint laugh without giving any further comments. After all, a narcissist like him would not understand.
They signed the contract successfully.
Zander handed the keys and passcode to Yanny. Before he left, he could not help but say, “You’re surely a lucky young lady. Only a fool would sell the house to you. You’re really lucky.”
“Mr. Lucas, are you trying to say that I’m lucky or bragging to me that you’re a nice guy?”
Zander rubbed his nose and coughed dryly, “Both.”
Yanny found a moving company and was prepared to move out after purchasing the apartment at Blue Water Residential Area.
Samantha snitched on Yanny and said, “Shayne, is Yanny going to move out soon? Should we go help her out?”
Shayne simply said, “You can go if you want to.”
Samantha really met up with Yanny to help her move out.
Cindy went to South City to see her idols recently. Hence, Yanny contacted a moving company. Her stuff was all packed neatly so she did not need much help.
Samantha only helped her out with some cleaning.
Samantha’s mouth widened in awe as they arrived and entered the apartment at Blue Water. “Yanny, don’t you feel lonely living all by yourself in such a big house?”
Yanny said, “I’ll bring my grandma over here once I settle down.”
“Oh.” It seemed like she never thought of her brother at all.
Samantha did not know that the house belonged to Shayne. Shayne had a lot of properties and Samantha was not interested in such matters.
A few contracts were placed on the European style coffee table. Samantha was feeling bored, so she flipped through the contracts and saw Zander’s flamboyant signature.
“Zander? Is this Zander’s house?” Samantha mumbled quietly.
Yanny poured Samantha a cup of water. She handed her the water and asked suspiciously, “Do you know the owner of the house?”
“Yes, but I don’t know if they’re the same person though.”
Yanny always thought that something weird was going on. She asked, “How does the Zander you mentioned look like? Do you have a photo of him?”
Samantha turned on her phone and searched through her social media. She had Zander’s social media.
“I remember Rodney sent me a photo of their gathering and Zander was inside that photo. Let me search through my chat records.”
Soon after, Samantha found the photo. They were in a bar. Although the lighting was dim, Yanny could see all of the people’s faces in the photo.
Shayne was in the photo and the man sitting beside him was Zander.
“Yanny, is this the guy who sold you this house?”
Yanny said confidently, “It’s him.”
She finally remembered where she saw Zander.
She went to the bar to look for Shayne last summer. Shayne was playing cards with three other guys at that time and one of them was Zander.
That was why he looked so familiar.
“What a coincidence. But I’m sure Zander has a lot of property as well, so it’s no surprise that both of you ran into each other.”
Yanny could feel something fishy going on. She had this feeling throughout the whole time they were negotiating about the house. Hence, she asked, “Samantha, is Zander married?”
Samantha shook her head as she pouted and said, “Zander doesn’t even have a girlfriend. He hangs out with my brother everyday.”
He was not a good guy then.
Yanny was speechless.
He was indeed a liar.
That means that the house must belong to Shayne.
Yanny got up from the couch and started to check out the house.
She should have realized it earlier. Which dumb owner would sell such a house for 8 million bucks?
Was the house a compensation for their breakup?
Samantha laid down on the couch and asked, “Yanny, what’s wrong? Did Zander rip you off?”
“No, I actually got myself quite a good bargain. I bet Zander and the dumb guy are the ones who are hurting now.”
“That dumb guy? Who is that dumb guy?”
Yanny thought to herself, ‘Your brother.’
However, Yanny did not say that out loud. After all, she must be grateful after receiving such an offer from them.
Yanny treated Samantha to dinner that night.
Samantha posted two photos on her social media. One of them was a photo of the steamboat they were eating, while the other was a selfie of her and Yanny with their heads leaning against each other. The photo came out good.
The caption wrote with a jump emoji at the end, [Late night food porn.]
Shayne scowled as he saw the photo. His scowl was so deep that it could kill a fly.
Not only did she dump him, but she also stole his sister away.
Meanwhile, Samantha was complaining to Yanny as she was enjoying her steamboat, “Yanny, do you know that my brother has been having trouble keeping a straight face after you broke up with him? He literally scolds everybody he sees. He’s living like a middle-aged woman who is going through menopause. I’m afraid that he will have a mental breakdown if this goes on.”
Samantha was embellishing her story, yet she made it sound so real. Yanny felt somewhat guilty. After all, she was the one who wanted a breakup.
Moreover, that house…
Yanny took out her phone and turned it on. She clicked open Shayne’s messenger and asked, “Master Shayne, were you the one who sold the apartment at Blue Water Residential Area to me?”
She clicked on the send button. However, a red exclamation mark appeared next to the dialog box. Her message was not delivered.
A notification appeared below the dialog box which read, [The other party has turned on the friend verification setting. You are still not his or her friend. Please send a friend verification request. You may start chatting after passing the verification.]
Yanny was speechless.
There was still stuff that was left to unpack as she just moved in not long ago.
Yanny changed into casual wear and started unpacking her luggage after arriving at home.
She opened a drawer in the study room as she was cleaning up the place. She saw a photo frame in the drawer.
It was a photo of Shayne and Samantha when they were young.
“Hah, technology nowadays can be so deceptive.”
Yanny tossed the photo frame aside and squinted her eyes. Shayne was still a young man in the photo and Samantha was still young. She looked so tiny standing next to her brother. Pouting her lips, it seemed like she was unhappy with something.
She must say that a handsome guy will remain handsome even after he was all grown up. Although the man in the photo looked immature, she could feel his distinct aura. He had an arrogant look in his eyes.
Yanny thought of Zander talking about his wife. It must be Shayne. She could not help but laugh.
That man was surely a weird guy.
…
Shayne received Yanny’s message as soon as he entered his car in the parking lot after his pool session with Zander.
Yanny said, “Master Shayne, you left a photo in my house.”
Shayne was speechless.
A photo? He still had a photo at the Blue Water Apartment?
Da*n Zander. Why did he not check properly before selling the house?
He could feel Yanny’s sarcastic tone even through the screen of the phone.
Shayne gritted his teeth and replied to Yanny. He spoke with an authoritative tone, “Bring the photo to me.”
Yanny said, “500 bucks for delivery fee.”
She wanted to talk about money now?
Shayne replied, “I’ll transfer it to you through Messenger.”
Yanny reminded him leisurely, “Master Shayne, you blocked me on Messenger.”
Shayne was speechless.
[Extra Scene]
Shayne messaged Yanny, [Yanny, come back. I feel bored.]
Yanny replied, [What’s the use of me going back? To argue with you?]
[That would do too. [Cold smile]]
[One million bucks for one argument.]
[That’s way too expensive.]
[Goodbye then.]
