The manager of the marketing department answered my questions honestly. His answers were the same as what Lindsey had told me. Gradually, I calmed down and invited the manager to stay for coffee before seeing him out.

Once the manager left, Lindsey and Mira entered. Excitedly, Mira asked, "How was it?"

Lindsey knocked on Mira's head and looked at me with a smile. "The manager of the HR department will come soon as well."

I nodded. "Thank you, Lindsey."

I met five to six managers one after another today. Among them, only the managers from the marketing and HR departments came to see me on their own. The rest had been summoned by Lindsey under my name.

Among them, some were like the manager of the marketing department. Just a few words and they were ready to pledge loyalty, while the others played dumb no matter what I said, pretending they didn't know anything.

Lindsey was stunned. A while later, she smiled. "I see."

"Don't let too many people know about this. I don't want this affecting her."

Lindsey nodded. "Don't worry. I'm very good at handling such things."

Since I was directly involved, Lindsey didn't let me interfere with it. She took care of the issue herself. The post on the forum was taken down, and the employee who first spread the rumor was fired.

"Mr. Ranford, do you remember the first task Mr. Lawson gave you when you first joined the company?"

Lindsey came up to me with that question.
