No More Mrs. Nice Wife (Eleanor) novel Chapter 1609

That evening, Joslyn prepared a massive feast. Watching Evelyn sneak vegetables she didn't like onto Ian's plate—and watching him eat them with a completely unfazed smile—Joslyn immediately understood the shift in the air. A wave of immense relief washed over her.

She had prayed for this day, and it seemed her hopes had finally been answered. The two were truly back together.

After dinner, Eleanor headed upstairs to handle some work, while Evelyn trotted over to Ian's house to play.

Eleanor was in the middle of reviewing a document when her phone buzzed. It was Callie.

"Hey, Callie."

"Eleanor, we've hit a snag with customs on the new equipment. It's totally stalled in the system. Could you ask Mr. Goodwin to pull some strings?"

The equipment Ian had purchased was specifically for Eleanor's lab, so all the customs paperwork had been filed under her lab's address, with Callie managing the logistics.

"Okay, I understand. I'll see what I can do," she replied, trying to ease his panic.

"Eleanor, this shipment has been stuck for days. If you could just get Mr. Goodwin to make a call, it would clear instantly," Callie urged, hinting that she shouldn't hesitate to use Ian's influence for the sake of the project.

"Alright, wait for my update." She hung up the phone and stared at the document on her screen for a few seconds. Finally, she stood up and walked over to Ian's to ask for his help.

If this had happened just a few days ago, she would have exhausted every single one of her own contacts before ever considering asking him. But now—

She had absolutely no intention of holding back.

In Ian's living room, Evelyn was deeply engrossed in her new toys. Ian sat nearby, watching her with a gaze so incredibly tender it was almost unrecognizable.

"Mommy!" Hearing her footsteps, Evelyn popped her head up. "Look what I drew!"
