Mia replied, "Ivy, if you can't bear to part with Eason, then just let him stay here. There's no need to hide him abroad. I'll talk to Aunt Salena about it for you."

Ivy hesitated for a moment and replied, "I know you mean well, Mia, but he's already used to studying overseas. Coming back to study here might not be good for his development."

She was actually afraid that if her plan and identity got exposed, Eason would become her biggest weakness if she had kept her within the country. She had to get him out of the country before the net closed in to keep him safe. It would also help her feel more at ease.

Mia continued, "Ivy, Eason will be fine once he adjusts back to life here. Besides, I've already asked him about it. He said that he wants to stay."

She then turned around and waved at Eason. "Eason, come here. You said you wanted to stay here, right?"

Eason lowered his head and then nodded. He did not dare to look straight at Ivy, who was irritated. "Eason, why didn't you tell me sooner that you didn't want to leave?"

Mia chimed in, "Ivy, Eason's grown up now. He can think for himself."

She stood protectively in front of Eason and then turned back to Ivy. "It's settled then. We'll be living together from now on. I'll teach him about things that he doesn't know and help him get closer to everyone else at home."

Ivy replied, "That sounds good and all, but we should let him finish this semester abroad before bringing him back here for good."

She wanted to wait until all the dust had settled. Once the aftershock of the scam was over, she could bring Eason back home and settle down.

Mia smiled and said, "There's no need to do that. There are plenty of good schools here, too. Ivy, why are you in such a hurry to send him away anyway?"

Ivy forced a slightly awkward smile. "That's not what I meant. I'm just worried that he won't be able to adjust to studying here."

Mia then turned to Eason and asked, "Do you want to try?"

Eason nodded.

Ivy let out a helpless sigh and said, "I still have something to take care of, so I'll be going now. We can talk about this when I get back."
