She was truly shocked to learn that her son had embezzled company funds to help the Watkins family.

York remained unfazed. "Dad, do you have any proof that I embezzled funds?"

Sewell's veins bulged on his forehead. "Your grandfather and I took control of your accounts back then because we didn't trust you with your finances. You couldn't touch a cent of your own money."

"At that time," Sewell continued, "the Watkins family was being hounded by creditors. You had no choice but to take cash from the company accounts. The timing and the amount match up perfectly. You might be able to fool others, but you can't fool me!"

York replied, "Unless you can produce evidence, Dad, I won't admit to anything."

Claudia turned her head to look at York, frowning.
