No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 493

On the early morning beach, York and Claudia stood side by side, gazing out at the endless expanse of the azure sea.

But Claudia’s gaze was calm and detached.

York’s eyes, however, were filled with pain and restraint.

After a short while, Claudia spoke. "Let's go."

When York didn't move, she turned and started walking toward the helicopter alone.

"Claudia!"

York broke down, pulling her into a desperate embrace, as if she would vanish before his eyes the next second.

Before she could struggle or speak, he pleaded in a choked voice, "Let me hold you again. Just one last time."

His arms around her tightened, and he buried his face in her hair, desperately trying to commit her scent to memory.

I'm sorry. I just want to remember your scent, to remember the feeling of holding you, he thought.

In a daze, he whispered, "Claudia, is there really no future for us?"

His voice was so soft, it was as if he were asking himself.

The morning sun cast a perfect light on the beach.

York, in his white shirt, held Claudia, in her white dress, tightly in his arms, suppressing his sobs.

Years ago, on a summer day just like this, York, in a similar white shirt, had held Claudia, then in a white bridal gown, and tenderly kissed her.

But no matter how strong the sea breeze blew, it could never bring back their past.

Claudia slowly broke free from his embrace. "Let's go," she said.

York remained behind her, staring at her retreating figure, his feet feeling as if they were weighted down with lead.

Neither of them spoke again.

Claudia walked in front, York followed behind.

The morning sun, still low on the horizon, stretched their shadows long across the sand, but ultimately, it couldn't hold them there.

Once on the helicopter, Claudia closed her eyes and rested.
