Claudia was watching Fidelia's coming-of-age ceremony with Hawley and a few others. When Hawley grew bored and asked to find his uncle, she realized Eddy and Rock Sayer were gone.

She asked around until a waiter told her he had seen the two of them go upstairs.

Beside her, Peter casually remarked, "York just went upstairs too. You don't think they're all together, do you?"

Darleen chimed in, "No way. My brother and Mr. Sayer are like oil and water. And Eddy looks at my brother like he's his mortal enemy. The three of them would never hang out."

Claudia and Hugh exchanged a look. A knot formed in Claudia's stomach; she had a bad feeling about this.

Ever since she and York started the divorce process and York injured her brother's wrist, Eddy had been relentlessly training in martial arts. He hadn't even skipped his class the day before his final exams. With that Sayer kid in the mix, she was certain they had gone upstairs to confront York.

At that thought, Claudia quickly handed Hawley to Hugh and rushed upstairs to find them.

Peter, Hugh, and Darleen exchanged glances and immediately followed. A few guests, including Benton Harvest, saw the commotion and tagged along.

Claudia practically ran down the second-floor hallway, frantically searching. York was not a man to be trifled with. If her brother and Rock Sayer picked a fight with him, he wouldn't let them off easy.

Just then, she heard a loud crash from a room ahead. She was about to open the door when it was thrown open from the inside, and Rock Sayer came tumbling out, his clothes in disarray.

Claudia stopped dead in her tracks, staring in disbelief at Rock sprawled on the corridor floor.

Rock looked up and saw Claudia, and the crowd behind her, with equal disbelief.

Peter was the first to react, rushing forward to help Rock up. "What happened to you?"

Celia saw that Hawley, Hugh's son, was pretty chummy with Eddy. Not daring to stir up trouble herself, she whispered something to her two friends.

One of them stepped forward. "How come Mr. Ferguson's kid is so tight with Dr. Watkins's brother? Are Dr. Watkins and Mr. Ferguson… you know, together?"

Celia's other friend then asked Claudia directly, "Dr. Watkins, you just divorced Mr. Ferguson. You didn't find a new partner that quickly, did you?"

Darleen was about to step in, but Peter pulled her back. Hugh frowned and moved to Claudia's side, but she stopped him before he could speak.

Seeing that Claudia remained silent, Celia couldn't resist speaking up herself. "Dr. Watkins, you can't be seriously thinking of becoming a stepmother, are you?"

Claudia stood her ground, her gaze cold as ice as she looked at Celia. Her voice was calm but laced with a warning. "Celia, whether I become a stepmother or find a new partner has nothing to do with you."
