No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 399

Seeing Ann, Claudia frowned. "Why are you blocking my way?"

Ann stood up straight. "Claudia, you're divorced from York now. I expect you to stay away from him and his family from now on."

Claudia felt like Ann was completely delusional. "Ann, in what capacity are you warning me?"

"York divorced you for me," Ann threatened. "What capacity do you think I have?"

She continued, "Claudia, if you're smart, you'll leave Capital City as soon as possible. Go far away and never come back!"

Claudia raised an eyebrow. "So you're no longer begging me to treat you?"

"As long as you're not in Capital City to annoy me, my illness will naturally be half-cured," Ann said shamelessly. "I can recover without you."

Claudia stepped back onto the sidewalk, her eyes scanning Ann's attire from head to toe. Every item was a counterfeit, and the entire outfit probably cost less than a hundred dollars.

Claudia sneered. "The standard uniform for a maid at the Ferguson estate costs over a thousand dollars. Your entire outfit isn't even worth a hundred. Who do you think you are to challenge me?"

Ann looked down at her shoes, her face flushing with embarrassment.

If she hadn't listened to Wendy's nonsense and ruined her own career, and then fallen for that old woman's trap, she wouldn't be in this situation. York refused to give her money, and most of the little she had borrowed from Celia Hawk had been extorted by her sister-in-law. The small online loans she took out only covered basic living expenses. Where was she supposed to get money for designer clothes?

But she wasn't worried anymore. York had promised to have Claudia treat her and said he would take care of her and her mother. She believed that while York might not give freely, when he did, it would be a substantial amount.

Claudia said, "Even as York's ex-wife, if I wanted to, I could call Mrs. Ferguson right now, and the Ferguson family would have you slapped three times a day. Do you believe me?"

Ann's expression flickered through a range of emotions. When she spoke again, her earlier arrogance had significantly diminished.

"Claudia, we're both women, there's no need to make things difficult for each other. I'm just reminding you that since you're divorced from York, you should stay out of his life. Stop trying to get his attention."

Claudia sighed.

On the other end of the line, York left a room full of people and stepped out of a meeting. Before he could even say a word, Claudia had already hung up.

Just after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, York brought Ann to the hospital.

Even though Claudia knew Ann wasn't sick, she went through the motions, conducting the consultation and ordering the necessary tests. After more than an hour of this, Ann returned to Claudia's office.

Claudia said to York, "It's hard to say what her condition is right now. Let's start with a course of medication combined with medical therapy and see how it goes."

York nodded. "You're the doctor. We'll do as you say."

"She'll need to come in three times a week," Claudia explained. "Each therapy session is forty minutes. Have her come see me directly next Monday."

Ann feigned sincerity. "Thank you, Dr. Watkins."
