No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 356

Claudia glanced at York, who was standing beside her. "You can leave," she said.

York pointed at himself, dumbfounded. "Me?"

Wendy shot him a glare. "Get out."

York's face darkened as he turned and left the room.

"Mom, you should divorce him along with me."

York had just started to walk away when he heard Claudia's bombshell statement.

He spun around and headed back, but just as he reached the doorway, Claudia stood up and shut the door in his face.

More than half an hour later, Claudia and Wendy emerged from the room.

York carefully studied their expressions.

"If you're not staying for dinner, you should head home and get some rest," Wendy said to Claudia. "Take care of yourself."

York held an umbrella over Claudia as he walked her out. "The rain is pretty heavy. I can drive you home."

Claudia didn't answer, walking directly toward her own car. York had no choice but to follow, keeping the umbrella over her.

He grabbed her hand just as she was about to open the car door.

"Claudia," he said, "let's find a place to talk."

She glanced around at the rainy courtyard and stopped. "If you have something to say, say it now."

They looked at each other, and York couldn't help but frown.

"Claudia, what kind of daughter-in-law encourages her mother-in-law to get a divorce? Do you think that's appropriate?"

"Your father doesn't treat your mother well, so what's wrong with me advising her to leave him? It's not like I encouraged her to cheat on him," she retorted.

York lowered his voice. "My parents have been fighting for half their lives. It's just how they are. They're not going to get a divorce."

York changed the subject. "I haven't been sleeping well lately. Do you still have any of that medicine you used to make for me?"

Claudia looked at the exhaustion etched between his eyebrows and frowned.

After a brief hesitation, she said, "If you're sick, go to the hospital, make an appointment, and see a doctor."

She pulled open the car door, but York grabbed her wrist. "When Rock Sayer felt unwell in the middle of the night, you brought him medicine. Do our three years of marriage mean less to you than one of your patients?"

With a cold expression, Claudia wrenched her hand free. "Actually, yes. You mean less."

She got in the car and started the engine.

Wendy stood at the entrance to the living room, watching Claudia's car slowly drive away from Ferguson Mansion. She watched her son stand there in the garden, lost in thought, letting the rain drench him completely.

If he had only known then what he knew now.

Wendy's heart ached with a mixture of pain and helplessness. "Butler, call the young master inside. I have something to say to him."
