No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 332

Ann panicked. "You can't go after my brother and his family!"

Wendy sneered. "The James family raised such a fine daughter, selling her body to pay for her two nephews' education. Of course, I have to do a good deed and spread the word, let your whole family share in the glory."

Ann gritted her teeth and threatened, "No matter what, I'm the woman York loves most. Aren't you afraid your son will hate you for this?"

Wendy glanced at her. "Whether I even acknowledge him as my son is another matter entirely. Why would I be afraid of him hating me?"

Ann's eyes widened in disbelief.

Wendy offered a piece of advice. "Ann, the old man already knows about that little bastard's parentage. If you don't want to die, you'd better find a way to save yourself, and quickly."

With a nod to her bodyguards, Wendy turned and left.

Half an hour later, every valuable item Ann had brought with her was gone.

Ann stared at the flood of missed calls from her mother and brother on her phone, and in a fit of despair, she smashed it against the wall.

The sound of her son's crying grated on her nerves. She grabbed the boy roughly, ignoring his yelps of pain, and dragged him into the bathroom.

Ann shoved his head toward the toilet, her hand tightening around his neck as she twisted his small body.

The boy screamed and begged between sobs, "Mommy, stop! I'll be good!"

Her eyes were bloodshot, her face a mask of murderous rage.

As she squeezed, she cursed through clenched teeth, "You useless thing! All this time and you couldn't even win over one person! What good are you to me? If I'd known you were this pathetic, I should have smothered you at birth. You're nothing but a burden, a dead weight!"

She affectionately squeezed his little cheek. "It's okay, Hawley. Let me hold you."

Claudia lifted him, and he rested his head on her shoulder, whispering, "Mommy."

A pang went through Claudia's heart, reminding her of the child she had just lost.

She gently stroked the boy's head, not correcting him.

Hugh Ferguson explained helplessly, "I'm sorry, Dr. Watkins. Once Hawley calms down, I'll make sure he corrects the way he addresses you."

Claudia joked, "If he really can't change it, I wouldn't mind being his godmother."

Before she had even finished, Hugh sealed the deal. "Then it's settled."
