No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 318

Ann crouched down and whispered something in her son's ear. The boy immediately trotted over to Claudia and Laurinda.

He first addressed Claudia, "Ms. Watkins."

Then he turned to Laurinda. "Great-Aunt."

Laurinda looked at the small boy, then shot a questioning glance at Claudia.

"Aunt Laurinda," Claudia explained, "this is York's son."

Seeing her chance, Ann hurried over. "Aunt Laurinda."

Laurinda instantly understood who Ann was, and her expression turned cold. "Do I know you?"

"I've heard York mention you often," Ann explained, flustered. "And I've seen your photo on his phone, Aunt Laurinda. You have such a striking presence, really hard to miss."

Laurinda's expression hardened. "Miss James, it's best not to claim relatives you don't have. You may know who I am, but I certainly don't know you."

With that, she said a quick goodbye to Claudia and left.

Humiliated, Ann clenched her fists. She shot a venomous glare at Claudia. "Did you say something to her? Did you try to turn her against me?"

Claudia gave Ann a dismissive look and walked away.

In her youth, Laurinda had been a celebrated talent among the city's socialites. To escape an arranged marriage, she had secretly gotten pregnant by another man.

On the day of her big wedding, she showed up with the baby and called out her fiancé's cheating — played a whole video montage of his affairs — and totally wrecked the ceremony.

After successfully breaking the engagement, the baby's powerful father pursued her for six years before finally winning her over.

After dawdling for over half an hour, she emerged to find York in the bedroom on the phone. He saw her and quickly ended the call.

Seeing the hesitation in his eyes and the way he avoided her gaze, she instantly knew who had been on the other end.

Claudia lowered her eyes to hide her emotions and sat down at her vanity to start her skincare routine.

York came up behind her, placing his hands on her shoulders. He leaned in, his gaze meeting hers in the mirror. "That was Mark. He said Ethan got into a fight at school and injured another student. The other party is refusing to compromise."

When Claudia didn't respond, York added, "I'm going to go handle it. I'll be back soon."

Claudia squeezed a pump of facial oil into her palm. "Are you telling me, or are you asking me?"

York's hands tightened on her shoulders unconsciously. "If you don't want me to go, I won't."
