No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 314

The Watkins family estate, the Louis family home, Ferguson Mansion, even his sister Darleen's apartment... he searched everywhere he could think of.

At one in the morning, York arrived at Grant Manor.

At the main gate, Oliver Grant stood inside, pushing Cyrus's wheelchair. York stood on the other side. Separated by the wrought-iron gate, the two men locked eyes in silence for a few moments.

"Is she asleep?" York asked.

Cyrus was in his wheelchair, wearing a robe with a deep V-neck and a light blanket over his lap. He was idly playing with a beaded bracelet on his wrist.

He gave a small nod but stayed quiet.

York's brow furrowed, and he hesitated for a long while before finally saying, "My apologies for the disturbance."

He turned, got back in his car, and drove off.

Cyrus gestured with his hand, and Oliver turned the wheelchair around.

Oliver asked, puzzled, "Mr. Cyrus, Mr. Ferguson must have been searching for a long time to find his way here at this hour. Why didn't he insist on going in to get her?"

Cyrus snorted. Claudia wasn't in a good state tonight, and she had work tomorrow. York's decision not to disturb her was a wise one.

Sometime after three in the morning, a drunken York stumbled out of his car and into the elevator. Just as the doors were about to close, Peter slipped inside.

Seeing York, Peter jumped. "Whoa, what are you doing coming home at this hour too?"

The alcohol burned in York's stomach. He leaned against the elevator wall, glanced at Peter, but didn't speak.

The elevator doors opened, and York walked out. After a moment's hesitation, Peter followed him.

The two entered the apartment, one after the other, and York immediately collapsed onto the sofa.

Peter stood over him, his gaze fixed on York's prone form.

Peter's voice was firm. "This isn't a misunderstanding, York. This is a choice you made willingly. Whether you admit it or not, you chose Ann over the woman who loves you most."

Seeing York's state, Peter knew he wouldn't be sleeping tonight.

He stood up. "You two have been together since you were kids. Don't keep pushing her like this. You'll only make her resent you."

After Peter left, York lay silently on the sofa. His hollow eyes stared at the ceiling, the corners slowly turning red as his eyelashes trembled violently.

Early the next morning, on the road in front of the hospital's outpatient building.

Just as Claudia got out of her car, she saw York.

He was holding a bag of breakfast, dressed crisply in a tailored suit, but the weariness in his eyes was clear.

Claudia stopped as he walked toward her.
