No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 308

"Thank you, Mrs. Ferguson," Ann said cautiously. "York and I do both have a habit of drinking coffee."

She then gracefully lifted the cup and took a small sip. The bitter taste flooded her mouth, and she forced herself to swallow.

"The old hag didn't even add sugar." She thought. She knew Wendy wasn't that kind.

"Can you tell?" Wendy asked. "Is it Blue Mountain or Yauco Selecto?"

Ann lowered her head in embarrassment. The coffee she usually ordered was takeout, costing a few dozen, maybe a hundred dollars at most, and she always added sugar and milk. How could she possibly identify it by name? Wendy was deliberately trying to mock her.

Seeing Ann's reaction, Wendy said calmly, "I'm not asking to ridicule you."

Ann looked up in shock, her face a mask of someone whose thoughts had been exposed.

"I'm trying to remind you how vast the gap is between you and York," Wendy continued. "If you want to be with him, you'll have to work very, very hard in secret."

Ann's eyes filled with suspicion. "Mrs. Ferguson, are you being serious?" she asked tentatively.

Wendy smiled. "If I weren't serious, you wouldn't even have the privilege of sitting across from me."

Ann couldn't stand hearing the truth. She was annoyed and angry but didn't dare show it. However, that single sentence completely lowered her guard against Wendy.

Wendy watched Ann's performance without a flicker of emotion. She waited until Ann had finished crying before speaking. "Regardless, Ethan is my grandson. My family will not neglect the two of you."

Hearing Wendy's guarantee, Ann's heart leaped with excitement.

"I will do my best to persuade York to finalize the divorce and give you both a proper place," Wendy continued. "But you can't be idle either. You must do as I instruct."

Ann nodded eagerly. "Don't worry, Mrs. Ferguson. As long as you genuinely have our best interests at heart, I will listen to you."

Wendy glanced at Ann, then nonchalantly took a contract from her bag and slid it across the table.
