No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 131

Peter was speechless.

He looked at Ann and said plainly, "Never mind who's right or wrong—right now, you're the other woman."

Peter cut straight to the heart of the matter. "None of the Ferguson family elders acknowledge you or your so-called son. York still hasn't divorced Claudia for you. Haven't you gotten the hint yet?"

Peter's words hit a nerve.

Ann's voice was tight with restrained anger. "Peter, you can't predict matters of the heart. Isn't it a bit premature for you to be making such judgments?"

Peter pursed his lips. "I think you've been reading too many of those trashy billionaire romance novels in your spare time."

Ann's face flushed with humiliation. "Peter, what are you trying to say?"

He couldn't help but scoff at her. "It's always women like you who love to daydream—average looks, no family background, no education, no real skills, but a whole mountain of ambition."

"Dreaming that a billionaire will fall for a girl from a third-rate college."

"Dreaming that a billionaire will fall for the nanny."

"Dreaming that a billionaire will fall for the woman who had his child out of wedlock."

"Dreaming that a billionaire will fall for the divorced single mom."

"Dreaming that a billionaire will fall for the woman going through menopause."

"Dreaming that a billionaire will fall for the woman already collecting a pension."

...

Standing there, Ann felt like a complete clown.

But every time she initiated anything physical, he would make some excuse. He never touched her.

"We're all adults here," Peter said. "You were the first girlfriend York ever publicly acknowledged. If he was really into you, how could he possibly have restrained himself?"

Ann looked down, her heart pounding with panic. "What happens between me and York is none of your business."

Peter didn't bother exposing her lie. "Think about it, Ann. If he truly loved you, why wouldn't he divorce Claudia Watkins and give you a proper title?"

He didn't give her a chance to think.

"Because in York's eyes, you and Claudia are not on the same level. You can't compare to her."

Ann bristled. "My family may be ordinary, but the Watkins family went bankrupt! York was the one who helped pay off their massive debt. She's been married to him for three years and has been nothing but a housewife, a parasite living off him. How am I any worse than her?"

Peter cleaned his ear with his pinky. "Even though the Watkins family went bankrupt, Claudia went to a prestigious university. Her education is better than yours, her interests are broader, her worldview is wider, and she has access to connections and resources you can't even imagine."
