Never Mistake a Queen for a Lapdog novel Chapter 1115

The two locations weren't far apart, so Noreen arrived quite early.

As she stepped into The Half-Light Club and was about to call Seth, she spotted him walking toward the VIP private rooms.

Putting her phone away, she unhurriedly trailed behind him.

Just as she was about to catch up, she saw Seth stop dead in front of one of the doors. His expression shifted dramatically.

Before she could even call out his name, he violently kicked the door open.

Noreen heard everything that followed—the vile accusations Crystal spewed, and Seth's shocking, self-sacrificial defense.

She heard every single word perfectly.

He said.

'She never drugged anyone. I was the one who practically begged to get into her bed.'

'I was the one chasing her.'

'And I was the one who was used for seven years.'

'I was willing to be the other man. Being used for a few years meant absolutely nothing to me.'

The hallway lights were dim and quiet as Noreen stood in the shadows.

She felt her heart swaying like a tiny boat on the water.

Rocking.

Swaying.

The trembling in her chest refused to settle.

She looked down and smiled, a very faint smile.

But it reached all the way to her eyes.

When Seth stepped out, the ruthless aura surrounding him hadn't entirely dissipated. A frosty tension still lingered around his brows.

Until he saw her.

The moment their eyes met, his footsteps faltered almost imperceptibly.

Noreen took two steps toward him, her voice soft but incredibly clear.

"I'm here to take you home."

It was such a simple sentence.

But to Seth, it felt as if someone had gently placed a bouquet of flowers at the base of the massive walls he had spent years building.
