Sydney took the blanket and put it over Julien's body.
She asked Zach to turn on the heat in the study. Then she was a bit relieved.
See Sydney being so thoughtful to Julien, Zach was happy for Julien.
'What Mr. Flint had done for Ms. Raines was worth it!'
Sydney had no idea what Zach was thinking. She sat next to Julien and looked at him.
Julien's face was red from the alcohol, but he had dark circles under his eyes.
Apparently, he had been up all night and had been drinking last night.
He only drank red wine. Otherwise, he would have been in the hospital by now, even if he wasn't dead.
Sydney couldn't help but shiver at the thought.
Suddenly, her cell phone rang.
Sydney collected her thoughts and took the phone out of her bag.
It was Julien’s grandmother. The Old Madam should ask about Julien's condition, so Sydney answered immediately, "Grandma.”
"Syd, have you seen Julien?" On the other end of the line, Julien's grandmother sounded anxious.
Sydney answered, "Yes." "Great! How is Julien now? Did he do something stupid?" The Old Madam gripped her cane tightly and asked again.
Sydney looked down at Julien and replied, ” He's been drinking. He didn't do anything stupid."
"He didn't do anything stupid?" The Old Madam couldn't believe it.
Every year before, Julien drank a lot of wine on this day. If he didn't get drunk, he would hurt himself.
However, this time, Julien didn't hurt himself. The Old Madam couldn't believe it.
"No." Sydney reassured the Old Madam," Zach said Julien was drunk, so he didn't do anything stupid."
"That's not possible!" The Old Madam suddenly stood up.
Sydney froze, "Grandma, what's wrong?"
The Old Madam’s face turned pale. "Syd, tell me, what kind of wine did Julien drink?
"Red wine." Sydney answered without hesitation.
Immediately, Zach's face changed color slightly. He clenched his fists nervously.
'This is not good! The Old Madam knew Mr. Flint wouldn't be drunk with a few bottles of red wine. But Mr. Flint did get drunk. The Old Madam will definitely get suspicious.’
Indeed, after hearing Sydney's answer, the Old Madam grabbed the phone tighter and wondered, "That's impossible! How could he get drunk on a few bottles of red wine? Syd, is Zach with you?" "Yes." Sydney glanced at Zach. The Old Madam's face darkened. "Give Zach the phone. I need to talk to him."
"OK. hold on." Sydney handed the phone to Zach. "Grandma wants to talk to you."
Zach knew the Old Madam would ask him. He took a deep breath and took the phone with a wry smile, "Madam."
Zach headed out of the study.
Sydney watched Zach walk away. She didn't understand why he had to go out.
But she didn't pay much attention to it.
After she fixed Julien's hair, she went to the bathroom. She wanted to get a wet towel and wipe Julien's face.
Zach walked out onto the balcony and closed the door. Then he answered the Old Madam's question, "Madam, Mr. Flint did get drunk on a few bottles of red wine." "Zach, don’t lie to me!" At the other end of the phone, the Old Madam's face looked awful. "Julien wouldn’t get drunk on a few bottles of red wine. Tell me honestly, did Julien drink any other liquor?"
"No." Zach shook his head, "Madam, Mr. Flint really didn't drink any other liquor."
"Then tell me how he got drunk?" The Old Madam demanded.
"Mr. Flint..." Zach lowered his eyes. He didn't know how to answer the Old Madam.
Could he tell the Old Madam about Julien’s heart?
If he told her, would the Old Madam be devastated?
Then he went back to the study and handed the phone back to Sydney, speaking with a look of urgency, "Ms. Raines, please take care of Mr. Flint, I need to go to the old residence."
Seeing the anxious look on Zach's face and hearing that Zach was going to the old residence, Sydney's heart tightened," What's wrong with Grandma?"
"Madam has passed out."
"What?" Sydney’s voice rose, "Grandma passed out? Why? She sounded fine just now."
"It's my fault. I said something I shouldn't have said." Zach slapped his face with selfrecrimination. "I shouldn't have told her."
'I shouldn’t have been so inconsiderate. I thought Madam would have to know about Mr. Flint sooner or later. It’s okay to tell her the truth now.'
Now Zach regretted it so much.
Not to mention what would happen to the Old Madam, when Julien woke up, how should Zach explain to him?
"What exactly did you say to Grandma?" Sydney asked, her eyebrows furrowed.
Zach shook his head, "Ms. Raines, please don't ask. I can't tell you. I've already made Madam pass out. If I tell you... Forget about it! I have to go now. I need to see how Madam is doing. Please take care of Mr.
Flint."
Sydney was also worried about the Old Madam, but she couldn't leave Julien behind. She could only nod, "Okay, I'll take care of Julien. Don’t worry about Julien. Go see Grandma! Call me if anything happens."
"Okay." Zach then turned and walked away in a haste.
Sydney turned to Julien and held his hand tightly. She murmured softly, "What happened to you that you kept it away from me? Why did Grandma pass out after
hearing it?"
Julien hadn't woken up yet, so no one could answer Sydney's question.
Julien was in the middle of a nightmare at the moment.
It was more of his personal experience than a nightmare.
