Chapter 2403
It was only then that Raine was satisfied. She looked up at James and said in a gentle voice, "Thank you. You're the best!"
James lightly patted Raine's shoulder. "Everything's fine, as long as you're okay. Go ahead."
"Okay." Raine nodded and left.
James followed after her.
What Raine had not realized was that the gentle side of James had disappeared a long time ago.
That afternoon, the sun shone brightly.
KNOCK, KNOCK.
Hearing a knock on her door, Nicole frowned. "Come in.”
It was lunch break. Who could it be?
The door opened and Ellar entered merrily. "Nicole, it's me!"
Seeing him, Nicole smiled. "Oh, it's you! Have a seat."
"Sure!" Ellar sat down on the sofa beside her.
"What were you trying to say when you were acting mysterious?" Ellar did not want to mention it the day before, so he purposely visited her at the company.
"Of course, I have good news!" Ellar smiled and said proudly, "I've secured an international project!"
Nicole nodded. "That's great news! Congratulations!"
"Ellar, you're actually capable of doing things on your own now. The only thing you're lacking is confidence," Nicole said, giving him some constructive criticism.
"Really?" Ellar's eyes glimmered as Nicole praised him.
"Of course. I wouldn't lie to you." Nicole rolled her eyes at Ellar.
Ellar scratched his head and smiled innocently.
After discussing work, Ellar said, "Samuel and Spencer are getting married soon. My mom and Aunt Gloria have been very excited about it."
"Yeah, it's time that the family brought in some happy celebration." Nicole's eyes darkened slightly. None of the family members knew about Nolan and Lana yet. But they would be the page boy and flower girl. So when the time comes, she would not be able to keep it a secret anymore.
"Nicole, what's the matter?" Ellar asked in concern, noticing Nicole's expression. "Is there something that hasn't been settled? You can pass the job to me if you're busy. I'll help you with it."
"It's not that." Nicole shook her head. "I just thought of something."
