The banquet hall was brightly lit.
Lance led Audrey to the VIP seats in the front row.
"Ms. Rhodes, this is your seat," Lance said respectfully.
"Thank you." Audrey nodded slightly and was not in a hurry to sit down.
Beside her seat were a few old business big shots. When they saw her, a trace of surprise flashed across their eyes.
But they did not question whether she was worthy of sitting here. They just silently sized her up with their calm, sophisticated gazes.
They thought, 'If I'm not wrong, this is the girl from the Rhodes family, right? She can become Brightview Group's distinguished guest at such a young age. How impressive!'
Facing the scrutiny of these business giants, Audrey did not show any fear or flattery.
She always had a polite and generous smile on her face. Moreover, she had a natural calmness and composure.
"This must be Ms. Rhodes from Rhodes Enterprises, right?" A big shot couldn't help but probe, "You're amazing at such a young age."
At her age, they could not sit in this position.
When Audrey heard the praise, she bowed elegantly and smiled gently. "You're flattering me. I still have a lot to learn from you guys."
Her answer was neither servile nor overbearing, and it was natural and unrestrained. This made these big shots look at her in a new light.
They were all experienced veterans who had seen all kinds of people.
Audrey's actions were like a warm spring breeze, refreshing their hearts.
"The younger generation will surpass us." Another big shot sighed. "With you around, Rhodes Enterprises surely will reach a higher level. Riverdale's business world will belong to young people like you."
Audrey picked up a glass of champagne and took the initiative to drink with them. She smiled and replied, "Mr. Galler, you flatter me too much. I'll have to rely on you to guide me in the future."
Her simple words were sincere and humble.
The few big shots looked at Audrey with even more satisfaction.
"Oh, very good. You're a good young man."
Chuck Galler was the first to clink glasses with Audrey. The smile on his face was bright.
Hearing the praise, Audrey did not show any arrogance or conceit.
She was neither servile nor overbearing. She handled the situation freely, making the business big shots admire her even more.
Not many young people could be as humble and low-key as her nowadays. They all thought this girl could achieve great things in the business world.
Not long after Audrey entered the banquet hall, Eliza also entered.
However, the invitation she bought was located at the back. Looking at Audrey, who was like a fish in water, she could only grit her teeth in jealousy.
Because of the previous farce, no one in the banquet hall spoke to her.
On the other hand, Audrey, who should have been down and out after being chased out of the Rhodes family, could have a good chat with Riverdale's famous business big shots.
'Why? All of this should have been mine.' Eliza clenched her fists and wished to tear Audrey's smiling face apart.
Just as she wondered if she should do something, she suddenly heard a commotion at the door.
He did not even bother to say a word. He grabbed Eliza's hand and wanted to shake her off.
However, just as he was about to take action, he unintentionally saw Audrey sitting far away in the VIP seats.
Today, she wore a gorgeous gown and looked indifferent, as if she did not see him.
After a moment of hesitation, Dominic did not push Eliza away. Instead, he grabbed her waist and pulled her into his arms. He leaned over and whispered, "I'm sorry for making you wait so long."
In the banquet hall, Dominic hugged Eliza's waist in public.
This position was extremely intimate, and his gentleness was so strong that it could drown others.
Eliza blushed and felt weak all over.
However, Dominic was not interested in the surprise and shyness on Eliza's face. He stared straight at Audrey, eager to know her reaction.
'Seeing this scene, Audrey must have gone crazy from jealousy. Will she get jealous, lose control, or even come to reason with me?' Dominic wondered.
He decided that if she did that, he would take the opportunity to explain to her and bury the hatchet.
However, the scene he imagined did not happen...
Audrey only glanced at him indifferently.
There was no longer any affection in those clear and gentle eyes. There was even no hatred.
She looked away as if she had seen a stranger...
