She pointed at me and roared, "Get out of here. I don't want to see you, get lost!"
I pursed my lips and stared at her with an expressionless face, then my gaze fell on Hendrix. At the sight of her relying on him, the pain in my heart began to grow.
Looking at Valerie and Pedro, she raised her voice and uttered, "Mom, Dad, I'm going to press charges. She intentionally tried to harm me, so I'm going to report her!"
As she spoke, she fumbled for her cell phone.
For some reason, Valerie and Pedro did not hand their phones to her. Instead, they looked at her with mixed feelings, but more so at me.
Hendrix remained silent. He let her look for her own phone with a gloomy expression and saw that she make the call by herself.
"Hello, is this the police? I'd like to report an assault! Physical harm has been caused!"
Then, she quickly reported the address.
I stole a glance at Hendrix. He looked grim but still completely quiet as always.
Josiah settled his gaze on me and lightly said, "Let's go, I'll send you back!"
Pursing my lips, I then replied without a care, "I'll wait for the police!"
Josiah frowned. "Hendrix is here, he'll deal with it. Let's go, I'll send you back!"
I sneered. My gaze shifted to Hendrix. "Once I leave, I'll be accused of fleeing the crime scene, no?"
Josiah did not say anything more as he looked at Hendrix. Though he waited for Hendrix to say something, the latter looked like he did not have any intention of meddling in this.
Shortly, two young men in police uniforms arrived. When they saw the people in the ward, they were taken by surprise. It seemed like they recognized everyone.
After all, the people present were well-known figures in Jarold City who had likely appeared in the headlines a number of times.
The two young men stormed to the front of Andrea's bed and asked, "Are you Miss Burton? Were you the one who called the police earlier?"
She came over when Andrea called her. When she saw the people in the ward, she couldn't help but frown.
Andrea saw her and exclaimed, "Aunt Nerissa, tell the police that Arianna is the one who stabbed me. She wanted to kill me. You saw it. Tell them, okay?"
Nerissa looked at Hendrix. His expression was dark, his gaze profound, his emotions unreadable.
She side- eyed me, faintly frowned and muttered, "I was in the bedroom when that happened. I don't know what happened exactly. When I came out, you had already been brought into the ambulance by Hendrix."
Andrea looked at her in disbelief. She was on the verge of breaking down. "Aunt Nerissa, you clearly saw what happened. Why won't you tell them?"
The policemen were caught in a bit of a dilemma and were unsure of what was going on at the moment.
Andrea pulled at Hendrix, her eyes turning red. "Hendrix, you saw it with your own two eyes. Tell them that Arianna wanted to kill me, hurry up!"
Hendrix pressed his lips into a thin line and remained silent. His terrifyingly deep gaze fell on me.
