A year went by without Ethan, and it was torture for Kate, she had cried thousands of times and she thought her tears would run dry but she was wrong. She didn't know how the love of her life was doing except he was alive thanks to Azriel, she was grateful to have him by her side.
"What did the butler say?"
"He found out where they are holding him and we can go rescue him with a few of my warriors," he informed me and I smiled, going to hug him and he hugged me back.
"Thank you, Azriel," I cried, pulling away from him. I didn't know what I'd do without him and I'll forever be grateful that I ran into him in that bar.
"When are we going?"
"Tomorrow," he informed.
I was restless the whole day, we were waiting for night to come to invade the hunters and the next day, I was at the border of the Diamond pack before everyone arrived.
The journey to Creek Fall town was two hours but most of them had shifted in their wolf form and I rode in the car with Azriel. Kate's heart was thumping in her chest as they neared the town, everything was ready and someone had already made camp for the wolves.
"Who did this?" Kate asked.
"Butler James and Ethan's servants, your guy is quite rich you know," Azriel said.
She exhaled and got out of the car, the butler who never smiled at her once did for the first time and tears ran down her face, since when am I this emotional? She thought. The Butler bowed to her politely, and the other servants did, including the young servant who had a romantic crush on Ethan.
"It's good to see you again, Miss,"
"It's really good to see all of you," She croaked, quickly wiping away the tears from her face.
The butler started briefing them about what was happening, Ethan was alive but suffering at the hands of hunters.
The hunters lived in a village far from town, so, it would be easy to attack them.
"How many are they?" Azriel asked, looking through the print of the area.
"Not more than a two hundred," Butler James answered.
They spent time strategizing, and by the time we were ready to invade, the sun had reached its peak and Kate could do nothing but wait for it to set, however, Azriel led the men. She waited with Ethan's servants, all of them pacing and all she wanted was the sun to go down and join them.
"You love him," the young servant said. Kate looked at her with a smile and nodded. " But you're not human and you're not like the young master either," she continued.
"You're right," Kate's face contorted and her eyes shone red, showing her true form but the young servant didn't react as she expected, instead, she inhaled and wrapped a hand around her waist.
"I hate that he chose you but thank you for loving him truly, the young master is different good since you came into his life," she said sincerely.
"Thank you too for caring for him,"
The sun went down and Kate ran to the location, but no one was fighting, however, there was blood and dead bodies on the ground.
Azriel was talking to a large man with multiple tribal tattoos on his body.
"We just want you to release him to us and we'll leave, however, if you can't, more of your people will die," Azriel said in a calm tone. Kate stood beside the alpha male and the leader of the hunters gasped, glaring at her.
"Bloodsucker in my presence!" he hissed. Azriel stepped forward, making the man take a step back.
