At first, Preslie cracked some jokes which made Yesseca laugh non-stop when she heard it.
After all the jokes were exhausted, Preslie then pulled Selina to act out a sketch that left Yesseca in stitches.
Kylin and Matthew also dropped by every day.
Every time they visit, they were all smiles as they engaged Yesseca in small talk.
Topics that ranged from Kylin's work which had gotten smoother to Matthew's company whose performance had improved.
Yesseca was extremely happy for them when she heard this.
That day, Ruth also came to visit.
When she arrived at the ward's threshold, she heard the sound of laughter.
Ruth was stunned, then immediately peeked inside.
She saw Preslie had donned on a yellow wig while she talked energetically about something. Yesseca, on the other hand, was leaning against Selina's shoulder in helpless laughter.
Ruth's heart leaped in delight.
Why was everyone this happy? Was it because Yesseca's condition had gotten better?
After she entered and exchanged a few pleasantries, Ruth hurriedly tugged Preslie out of the room.
Her head was still covered with the wig, which made for an absolutely comical sight.
Ruth hastily asked her, "Preslie, how come you're all full of cheer and laughter? Is it because Yesseca's condition had taken a good turn? Is Yesseca going to live?"
Preslie shook her head.
"Not at all!" she replied. "Yesseca only had a few days left."
Ruth's vision darkened.
How could it be taken away just like that?!
Why were the heavens so cruel!?
There were numerous bad people in the world, but it didn't collect them. Instead, it wanted to take Yesseca's life!
"Do you know Ruth? At first, I thought that there was a turning point too. Although Yesseca is getting thinner, she's in better spirits, and her eyes got brighter. I really thought that, based on her expression, there was a good turn and even went to look for the doctor."
"But as a result, the doctor's explanation made me give up hope that Yesseca can still be saved." Preslie chuckled ruefully. "It was Yesseca's sister that helped me think things through. She said that since Yesseca is in good spirits because she has no fear in the face of her death, this shows that she had calmly accepted it."
"Since Yesseca had done so, why had we not crossed over that bridge yet? Look at how brave Yesseca is; she isn't terrified of death that even the doctors all said that they had never seen such a reaction before. To be at peace before her time is up...Yesseca is too awesome!"
"Therefore, how can we drag Yesseca down? Since we are Yesseca's friends, we should be as brave as her! Otherwise, we are not worthy of her friendship!"
These words shocked Ruth.
Then there was a ripple in her eyes. After a while, she suddenly clenched her fists and declared, "Preslie, you're right, we need to boost our courage! Yesseca was able to be this brave, as her friends, we must not drag her down!"
