My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) novel Chapter 2413

Sheldon smiled back.

Even though he was Tremaine's most loyal subordinate and that Tremaine and Yesseca had broken up, she did not hold any grudge against him.

When the two of them met, they could still greet each other and even smiled like old friends.

Just as Sheldon wanted to ask about Ruth, Yesseca turned around and said, "Preslie, Mr. Hawls is here."

Soon, a figure came out.

It was Preslie.

She looked at Sheldon with a hint of embarrassment.

Preslie was a straightforward and simple-minded person.

At first, she thought that Tremaine had ulterior purposes, which was why she even looked at Sheldon with hatred in her eyes.

After she learned that she had misunderstood Sheldon, she felt a little guilty towards him.

"Mr. Hawls," Preslie greeted him, slightly embarrassed.

Sheldon's blood rushed towards his face.

For some reason, watching Preslie blushing made his heart beat fast.

"Preslie," Sheldon said.

Preslie lowered her head and pulled at the hem of her shirt. Then she said, "I'm really sorry about the other day. I shouldn't have spoken to you that way. I've misunderstood you, I'm sorry."

Even though Preslie's previous accusations angered Sheldon a lot to the extend that he felt she was insensible...

But when Preslie apologized to him so sincerely, the anger in his heart dissipated instantly.

He immediately said, "No... it's nothing, don't worry about it."

Preslie lowered her head and blushed even more.

Sheldon then asked, "Is Ruth here?"

Preslie was surprised.

She looked up and said, "Mr. Hawls, how do you know that?"

Sheldon replied subconsciously, "Mr. Tremaine told me about it."

Preslie was speechless.

A look of astonishment flashed across Sheldon's

eyes.

Is Ruth really there?

"Is she the only one here?" Sheldon asked subconsciously.

Preslie replied helplessly, "Yes, she is the only one. The workload is supposed to be separated among many more employees, but Ruth refused to share the work. This is because she didn't want bread made by other people to be sent to the Quartley Palace. She wants her child to eat the bread she made."

Preslie then asked Sheldon, "Did Ruth's child eat the bread that we sent over every day?"

Sheldon said, "I don't know about that."

Preslie immediately lowered her voice and said, "If Ruth asks you, you must say that the child did. This is the only thing that gives Ruth a motivation to do better in life. If she knows that her son hasn't eaten what she made, she will definitely collapse."

Upon seeing Preslie's pleading eyes, Sheldon nodded, he said subconsciously, "Preslie, you are a kind girl, you have always been kind."

Her face turned red.

She suddenly felt an inexplicably awkwardness and helpless feeling in her heart.

Preslie blushed and said, "I... I need to get back to work. Since you are here to see Ruth, you can talk to her. Please excuse me."
