"Oh, so she didn't come after all," Tremaine repeated back.
For a brief moment, the hope in his eyes faded, leaving behind only pain and sorrow.
Tremaine walked back to the car. His voice sounded hoarse and tired. "Let's go back to Nashaland."
He then lowered his voice to the point that only he could hear himself, "Turns out I had been dreaming this whole time."
In Nashaland.
Tremaine went straight into his bedroom and ordered that no one was to disturb him.
Sheldon knew what Tremaine meant by that.
He didn't want Tremaine to remain trapped in his depression. He then said, "But Mr. Tremaine, there is still work to be done at the presidential office."
He knew that Tremaine had always taken his work very seriously and so, hoped to encourage him to focus on work instead of feeling down.
But it didn't work this time.
Tremaine then said hoarsely, "Don't talk to me about work right now."
Tomorrow was a rest day and he would only be needed at the presidential office the day after. He had time for a long rest.
Tremaine slammed the door shut.
Sheldon's heart sank as he stared at the tightly shut doors.
He knew why Tremaine wanted to sleep in today.
The president is hoping to dream of Yesseca again.
Because in his dreams, Yesseca would return to Nashaland and hold him again.
But in reality, that was impossible.
After standing at his door for some time, Sheldon decided to head back to Agaphen City.
He was going to find Yesseca.
Yesseca's ruthless reply today didn't rouse the president from his delusions, instead he became even more obsessed with her.
Sheldon became anxious when he saw him like this.
He couldn't allow this to continue.
However, it was very unlikely to say that Madam Quartley wasn't involved in the plan to remove Yesseca in the first place.
Sheldon had phrased it this way to let Madam Quartley know just how important Yesseca was to Tremaine.
Although it seems impossible right now, what would happen if Tremaine and Yesseca got back together again?
If Madam Quartley still disliked Yesseca and started to plan for a way to break them up again, then no one would know for sure what the future would be like.
So Sheldon had to give Madam Quartley a heads up.
After a long silence, Madam Quartley sighed heavily and said, "I don't blame her for what happened."
Madam Quartley was a very straightforward person.
If she was wrong, then she would admit that she was wrong. She wouldn't defend herself stubbornly simply because she disliked Yesseca.
"It was my fault." Madam Quartley continued, "We didn't investigate things properly and made the wrong call. All of this happened because of Qiana!"
Having mentioned Qiana, Madam Quartley began to feel upset.
She was furious at Qiana. Not only did she trick her and her grandson, but she had nearly killed her great grandson!
