My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) novel Chapter 2224

Slam!

Matthew threw his fist at him.

He punched Tremaine in the face.

But he didn't fight back.

Matthew stared coldly at Tremaine and said, "Now you're telling me Yesseca is innocent! You've finally realized she's innocent all this time! Tremaine Quartley! You're Yesseca's beloved! But you couldn't tell she was innocent when we all saw it as clear as day! Do you know how badly you've hurt Yesseca's heart?!"

Tremaine didn't feel any pain from the punch earlier, but his words were like knives, stabbing his heart repeatedly.

A scene crossed his mind.

It was when he locked Yesseca up in the bedroom. He could only imagine the helplessness and hopelessness she had facing his misunderstanding and doubts.

As her man, not only did he not stand by her side when she needed him the most, to make matters worse, he pushed her deeper into the abyss. Served him right to be d*mned!

Tremaine picked up a beer bottle and handed it to Matthew. "Hit me with this! Smash my head! I deserve a good wake-up call!"

But Matthew didn't do it.

He chucked the beer bottle aside and said, "I don't need to. I can see you're already awake."

Lashing out was the most incompetent way to settle things.

He wasn't here to lash out.

"Cut to the chase. What exactly do you want to do?"

Ten minutes later, Matthew learned about Tremaine's intentions.

Sure enough, it was just as he had expected.

Matthew sneered and said, "What will you do if Yesseca remains indifferent after I bring her there?"

Tremaine had already thought of that possibility.

He said, "I'll let go."

His answer stumped Matthew.

"You're willing?" Matthew asked after a pause.

"I don't." Tremaine said, "But I've betrayed her. I'm no longer deserving of her love." He paused for a moment before saying bitterly, "If my guess is right, she'll never take me back."

Matthew was stunned.

Tremaine had always been extremely possessive. But it was evident that he was genuinely regretful of his actions to be able to say all that despite still loving Yesseca and knowing he was wrong about her.

"If you're willing to keep your word, I'll help you," Matthew said after a while.

If Yesseca still had feelings for Tremaine, he would be willing to bring the two back together.

After all, it wouldn't be love without hindrances.

He and Selina were the epitome of star-crossed lovers, even facing separation and death.

It was precisely he was painfully familiar with it that he wasn't willing to see their romance come to an end so simply.

Of course, it would be a different story if Yesseca no longer had feelings for Tremaine.

Tremaine stretched his hand toward Matthew for a shake. "Thank you, Matthew!"

But Matthew didn't reach for it.

He said, "If Yesseca still has feelings for you, and you manage to win her heart back, we'll shake at that."

Tremaine sneered wryly under his breath.

He then muttered, "Hopefully, she still does."

Meanwhile, Preslie's parents were locked up in the detention center.

She was thrown to the wall and landed hard on the ground.

The man then gave Celine a good beating.

Calter was rendered petrified.

It took him a good two minutes to recover from the shock.

He shouted at the top of his voice, "Help! Murder! Somebody! Anybody!"

Unfortunately, Celine was close to knocking on death's door by the time the criminal was put under control.

She was immediately sent to the hospital.

The officers at the station naturally notified their family members.

They notified Preslie and Amelia.

Preslie was shocked when she heard the news and hurried to the hospital.

Calter slapped her on the face the moment she showed up.

Preslie's head buzzed from the beating.

Calter pointed at the surgical suite and said, "You unfilial daughter! Not only won't you provide for us, you even want us dead! How could your mother have given birth to such a heartless daughter!"

Preslie had no idea what was going on.

Just as she was about to say something, Amelia stood up.

She arrived at the hospital ten minutes before Preslie.

Calter had told Amelia the whole story, with some embellishments, of course.

"Preslie Fernandez, you've crossed the line this time! Even if you have a problem with Mom and Dad, you can't treat them like that! How are you okay to let Mom be beaten half dead?! Do you even have a heart?!"
