Shocked by this, Willow quickly pushed Jasper away and got off him. She was evidently feeling awkward and embarrassed as she fixed her attire. “Mr. Hughes, I’ll sweep the floor later, so enjoy your lunch.”
She hurried away and left the office before Edith.
Edith shot Wyatt a glare. This man was just making things worse.
Her heels clicked as she left the office, feeling embarrassed and reluctant.
Wyatt put the takeout on the table with a knowing grin and said, “Jasper, why do I get the feeling that I just disturbed you from enjoying your lunch?”
Jasper shot him a cold glare. “At least you’re aware.”
Wyatt’s grin deepened, and he leaned closer to Jasper. “Should I summon them back here for you?”
Jasper was glaring daggers at him. “Looks like Dr. Morgan’s anesthetics are getting weaker. I’ll have to import some that can numb a person’s tongue for at least half a year.”
Wyatt stopped at once. “Fine, I’ll stop teasing you. Humans can’t function properly on an empty stomach, so eat your lunch.”
There was a price to pay for gossiping about Jasper’s private affairs.
Wyatt’s tongue was feeling better now, so he didn’t want to go through it again.
After rushing out of the CEO’s office, Willow was about to take the elevator down to the cleaning department’s lounge.
“Willow Nason!” Edith stopped her.
Edith’s face twisted in anger.
To think that Willow just said that she was incomparable to a mere janitor!
That woman was only a janitor, so where did she get the confidence and strength to retort her?
Edith’s resentment and anger towards Willow deepened.
She snorted, turned around, and returned to her office.
Willow hid in the cleaning department’s lounge for the rest of the afternoon. She refused to go back to cleaning Jasper’s office in case things got awkward.
