In the taxi, Rachel scrolled through Wyatt's social media. There was a picture of him drinking in a bar. He had taken the selfie with a glass of wine in his hand.
Uncertain of whether it was the bar's bright lights or simply because Rachel had feelings for Wyatt, his face seemed to be glowing in the picture. He looked even more handsome with time.
A picture of him was enough to make her heart pound. She continued to stare at it.
Ba-dump. Ba-dump.
Honestly, some people were just too good-looking.
It only took one look for her to fall for him. How could she ever forget him?
Rachel quietly saved his photo on her phone.
After thinking for a moment, she decided to give it a shot.
Otherwise, she might end up regretting it.
She opened the conversation with Wyatt and started typing: Nice to meet you.
This seemed to lack personality.
She deleted the sentence and started over: Hey, handsome. I'm Rachel Stone. Would you like to have dinner tonight? It's on me.
After typing the sentence, she bit her lip and pondered.
She read each word out loud and decided this could work. Hence, she mustered the courage and clicked a button to send the text.
The text was sent.
Rachel's heart raced. She felt terribly nervous, and she wondered what kind of response she would get.
However, before she could even think about the outcome, a red exclamation mark appeared beneath her text.
Rachel fell for a man she had just met. After being blocked, she was clearly upset.
If they actually got together, and things went south, Rachel might have been in even more pain.
Fortunately, nothing had started. Based on Willow's understanding of Wyatt's womanizing personality, he definitely could not offer Rachel a happy future.
When the time came, Rachel could end up being doubly hurt.
Amidst Rachel's crying, the taxi stopped in the neighborhood where Willow rented a place. Willow paid the driver and helped Rachel get out of the car.
Having cried to her heart's content, Rachel felt much better. She dried her tears and smiled at Willow. "You're right. The next guy will be better. He's just a guy. It's not a big deal! Let's go. The kids are waiting for us."
Rachel wrapped her arm around Wilson's. She seemed fine and cheerful again.
However, Willow could still see tears in Rachel's red, puffy eyes. She knew Rachel couldn't have gotten over it so easily.
