My Four Miraculous Treasures (Willow and Jasper) novel Chapter 324

There was a meeting scheduled for the morning. Willow set up the meeting room in advance.

The meeting started on time, at half past ten. Willow stood by the door, greeting each of the company directors as they came in. Everyone took their assigned places around the meeting table…

Everyone, that is, except for Jasper Hughes himself. Willow remained at the door, waiting for him.

After a while, the CEO finally made his appearance, fashionably late. Long, powerful legs carried him into the room, Tyson Ward following closely in his shadow.

From a distance, Willow had already noted that Jasper was in a foul mood. His expression was grim and his aura was frigid.

As he approached, a cold breeze rolled in ahead of him, causing Willow to tense up despite herself, unable to breathe. Remembering how he’d lost his temper with her, just moments ago in his office… seeing his dark mood now had her heart pounding with trepidation.

Seeing him approach, she bowed low and offered him a polite greeting: “Good morning, sir.”

With eyes like a starless night, he spared her half a glance, for only the briefest of moments… and then he strode onwards, a chill wind whipping up in his wake, the touch of which faintly stung upon Willow’s skin.

Jasper took his seat at the head of the table, his body enveloped by the black revolving chair. He exuded an aura of paralyzing menace that seemed to lower the ambient temperature in the room.

All the company employees in the meeting room could sense it, and kept still out of fright.

Willow went over to the computer, and began to display the materials related to that meeting’s agenda.

Various managers voiced their perspectives, and put forward suggestions, only to be shot down coldly by Jasper. Several times, he even flew into a rage, and hardly anyone in the room was spared from his wrath.

A deathly pall enshrouded the room.

Willow blinked in innocent bewilderment, thinking hard. “But I didn’t do anything wrong! I only returned the car to him, that’s all!”

“What?! You rejected Jasper’s gift?!” Tyson sounded shocked.

“Is there a problem?”

Tyson nodded to himself, his amusement visibly growing. “Only you would throw his favor right back into his face like this… I can’t believe it—just like how I can’t believe you’re still allowed to be standing here, like this!” And then he turned away, and left the meeting room.

Willow stood there in baffled confusion, unable to make any sense of his words. She’d refused an expensive gift… so what? Was there anything wrong with that?

Somehow, she survived until noon, which was when she slipped out during lunchtime to visit the nearest shopping mall, in order to begin her search for a coat matching Xavier’s one that she’d lost.
