Willow returned to Hughes Corporation on Monday.
The janitorial department manager had her help out a new recruit in the lobby.
After Deborah left, their department hired another janitor named Jessica Stewart, a twenty-five-year-old young woman who was two years younger than Willow.
Jessica joined Hughes Corporation for the attractive salary, but couldn’t get into the other departments due to her lack of qualifications. Thus, she chose the janitorial department.
After all, anyone could enter this department if they were hard-working. There weren’t any educational requirements either.
At Hughes Corporation, even a mere janitor got paid more than most places. Since it was a lucrative job, it wasn’t just the middle-aged women, but many young people were also interested.
There was thirty-year-old Deborah, twenty-seven-year-old Willow, and now, twenty-five-year-old Jessica.
People were used to calling people of this profession ‘cleaning ladies’ as most of them were middle-aged women.
However, Hughes Corporation had a charm that attracted young women to become janitors.
Willow guided Jessica and taught her how and where to clean. After they were done with the lobby, Willow was about to take the elevator up.
There was a commotion at the entrance and the atmosphere seemed to have changed.
The receptionist urged, “Mr. Hughes is here, make way.”
Willow turned around to see Jasper’s striking figure in a black tailored suit and handsome face looking dignified as he strode over. His aura was domineering as ever.
He had his bodyguard and Tyson following behind him.
Jessica and the receptionist stood aside respectfully.
Willow’s back stiffened. She hurried back to stand beside them and bowed with a straightened back to welcome Mr. Hughes.
As Jasper passed them, he briefly glanced over before averting his gaze and entering the elevator.
Yet, this recruit was just a janitor with a common appearance.
How could she be so narcissistic to think that Mr. Hughes was interested in her?
She had to be put in her place.
Jessica was shocked. She asked resentfully, “But aren’t I pretty?”
The receptionist looked at Willow before looking back at her. She sneered. “You’re not as pretty as Willow, so Mr. Hughes could be looking at her instead of you.”
Willow was speechless.
Jessica turned to Willow upon hearing this. Willow had a small face with rosy lips and white teeth. Her doe eyes were bright, her brows defined, her lips dainty, and her skin was fair.
Her graceful temperament felt so refreshing and youthful that she seemed like a young high school girl.
