Hearing Jasper's words, Willow got more anxious.

She had to go to jail if she couldn’t explain and defend herself.

She panicked and spoke incoherently, “I didn’t steal this. My neighbor, Florence, found it and returned it to me. I lost a jade pendant exactly like this five years ago. My neighbors knew about it. Florence suddenly told me that she had found my pendant. I rushed back from Buscen City and gave her three thousand to thank her. Who knew that it was fake…”

Although her words were unorganized, Jasper understood what she had said.

He was skeptical about it. “Are you saying that you lost the real one?”

The policeman listening was confused. This pendant was made of real jade. He didn’t know what she meant by fake.

Willow nodded with tears in her eyes. “Yes, I lost the real jade pendant five years ago. I can’t find it anywhere.”

Jasper’s heart beat faster. He pulled her closer and made her look into his eyes.

He stared at her to observe her expression. “Did you lose Yvette’s jade pendant?”

Willow shook her head. “No, it’s mine. A man gave it to me. Yvette drowned and died when she was three or four years old.”

Jasper’s memories flashed back to that thunderous night five years ago.

No wonder Willow’s eyes, lips, scent, and everything were so familiar to him.

He had the exact feeling when she bit him again.

It turned out that she was the same woman five years ago!

Willow stammered when she saw Jasper looking at her affectionately, “M-Mr. Hughes, what’s wrong?”

Upset because she was frequently framed and wrongly accused.

She was raising four kids by herself and she was already stressed out at work.

Jasper gave her light and hope during the difficulties.
