"Mr. Hughes, all you need to do is turn on the surveillance footage on your computer. Have a look at it, and you'll see that I wasn't eavesdropping by the door. There was surveillance on the outside too. You can see that I didn't eavesdrop," Willow added.
Deborah was leaving after today. It was already five in the evening. Soon, working hours would be over. If Willow did not solve this issue now, she would lose the chance to do so ever again.
Willow was frantic. Deborah and the mastermind behind the scenes were the ones who started the rumors. Old Master Hughes, who sat nearby, glanced unhappily at Willow.
Jasper gently cleared his throat. "This isn't important. Don't waste our time!"
Why was this woman so stupid?
Could she not read the room?
Jasper felt speechless with her behavior.
Willow choked on her words. Jasper's words were exactly the same as what Ms. Price had mentioned.
He would not waste time to clear her name.
This made Willow even more anxious. "Mr. Hughes, I know I'm not important, but this has to do with my reputation for the rest of my life. Please turn on your computer and take a look at the surveillance footage. It won't take long."
Jasper looked up at Willow coldly.
It felt like a great storm was approaching.
Tyson wiped away the sweat on his forehead.
Willow truly was unusually brave. Mr. Hughes was already on the brink of losing his temper, and she still dared to continue speaking.
In reality, Willow was also fearful of Jasper. She held her breath and waited for Jasper to respond.
Willow was equally surprised. Did it mean Jasper was the one who protected her after she was caught using her mother's identity to get hired? Was that the only reason she was not fired?
Why did Jasper protect her?
Willow pondered on it for a moment. She quickly recollected herself.
Now was not the time to think about these things. She had to get back to business.
Willow turned to face Jasper. "Mr. Hughes, somebody instructed Deborah to spread the rumors and blame it all on me. In fact, she dislikes me not because I used my mother's identity to get hired. Instead, it's because she wants to clean the top floor. That's her only opportunity to get close to you and seduce you. Mr. Fawcett didn't give her this chance. For that very reason, she hates my guts. At the end of the day, she's only jealous that I get to be so close to you every day."
After Willow finished speaking, Frank Hughes' facial expression turned even colder. He then stared at Willow with something seemingly running through his mind.
Jasper sensed that his grandfather was unhappy. His handsome face became increasingly gloomy.
