Skylar said, "Alright."
She hung up the phone, raising an eyebrow. She wondered if Hubert hadn't managed to smooth things over with Thora.
Everything seemed fine the last time Thora came to teach Vivian. But because it was personal business, Skylar didn't ask further questions.
Curiosity flickered in her mind for a moment, but then her attention returned to Joe and Vivian. The father and daughter waved when they saw her, and she waved back.
"Hey, look at that person—see the one playing on the slide with the kid? Doesn't she look like Mr. Martin from your company?" Trina Hill said.
The conversation from behind Skylar caught her ear. The voice was a bit loud, and even though they were about six feet away, she could hear every word.
The mention of Joe's name caught her attention, and a smile tugged at Skylar's lips. She hadn't expected to run into employees from Joe's company at the hot spring resort on the weekend.
"Wow, it really is him!" Priscilla replied.
"Should you go say hi? He's here with his daughter. I didn't expect someone as impressive as him to be such a devoted father, and his physique is amazing!"
"I don't know… His wife might be here too. I'd rather not make things awkward."
"Wait, didn't you say you were trying to get closer to him? I used to see his name in the news, but this time, I'm realizing just how on-point your taste is. I used to tease you about wanting to be his secret mistress.
"I thought you were crazy. But now, looking at him, I take back what I said! I'd be okay with being his secret lover or even just a one-night fling."
Hearing Trina's words, Priscilla sighed and said, "I made a move on him when I was on a business trip recently. But maybe I was too subtle. He didn't pick up on my signals."
"She's not that great." She frowned and turned her gaze away, feeling irritated, especially when she saw Joe and his daughter together.
The more he doted on his daughter, the more it meant that he cherished his wife. If his family was happy, he wouldn't be seeking excitement elsewhere.
Skylar had overheard the conversation between Priscilla and Trina. If they were talking about someone else, she might have just enjoyed the gossip, but the fact that they were discussing how to become her husband's secret lover or have a one-night affair with him made it harder to ignore.
Though she had been married to Joe for several years, she never doubted his growing charm. Of course, there were plenty of women who were interested in him too.
If she wasn't mistaken, that female employee from Martin Group was named Priscilla Dunn.
Just then, Vivian called out to her, "Mom, come play!"
