My Father's Best Friend novel Chapter 20

Sorting through the clothes in her wardrobe, Andrea was frustrated because of the fact that she could not find anything to wear to dinner with Lance and his Aunt Holly.

She raked a hand through her hair and let herself fall to her butt. What the hell was wrong with me, she thought. She was only going to meet Lance's aunt, it's not as if she was going to some black-tie event full of celebs.

She need help.

She felt through her jeans, the familiar bulge of her phone greeted her, and a slow smile began to form on her lips. She scrolled through her contacts and produced a wide grin as she tapped call.

"V, as out of the blue as this may sound, I need some fashion advice," she said through it, not even bothering for hellos.

"Be there in five,” Victoria hung up on her.

Five minutes later, Victoria without so much as knocking barged through the door, blue eyes bright with excitement.

"I don't know what to wear," Andrea said as Victoria came to a halt three feet in front of her.

---

Victoria looked at her best friend weirdly, the confused and worried expression and tone, though it may be somewhat rude, made her laugh in amusement, making the expression change into a very familiar scowl, "What's so funny?" Andrea asked as she stood up and came to sit at the top of the backrest of her coach.

"Well, obviously, you and your whole dilemma," noticing the confused frown deepen in Andrea's face, Victoria took a seat beside her, "I mean look at you, you are like a great dresser and you never found any problem with the getting dressed department because of your humungous closet filled with clothing girls could only dream of, yet you can't find one single thing to wear for the night! Where are you going, anyways?" Victoria asked, gesturing throughout her speech.

Andrea sighed, "I'm going to meet Aunt Holly," she answered, meeting Victoria's now confused face.

"You know, just forget about it, before you can furthermore hurt my feelings," Andrea said, clearly annoyed, and stood up making her way to the door.

"Hey, hey, hey! Sorry. I'm just not accustomed to an Andrea with clothing dilemma," Victoria stood up and held Andrea by the wrist.

Andrea pouted, "Well, nobody's perfect," she commented.

"Yes, and that saying only made sense to me about ten minutes ago," Victoria smiled at her, making Andrea roll her eyes once again.

"Okay," she said and made her way to her room, dragging Victoria, still stifling a laugh and knowing, ever since she first met Lance and noticed how he looked at her, that Andrea will not get her heart broken.
